My Garmin Drivesmart won’t recognise my MacBook Air
-
Dear MyRoute-app
Please can you help me. I have purchased a Garmin Drivesmart 66 satnav, following the instructions and downloading the connector on my Apple MacBook Air, Garmin is connected in a file transfer mode. When exporting we get an error. Garmin Express app does see the Garmin connected to the MacBook Air. Please note I’ve successfully downloaded a planned route with waypoints using the same Apple MacBook Air to a previous which was Garmin Drivesmart 51 but I can’t do the same with this new Garmin Drivesmart 66. Furthermore I’ve been to the Apple store in Brighton and they could not fix the problem and suggested that I contact you directly for help. So please can you me resolve the problem. Please find attached screenshot of what happens when I try to download a planned route with waypoints to my new satnav.
Kind Regards Alan

Hello @Alan-k I can’t help you but I’m sure someone will be able to. I have deleted your duplicate post.

@Alan-k The Garmin Drivesmart 66 is an android based unit. Therefore it doesn‘t work with the connector.
Solution: Save the Route as GPX File at your desktop and copy it to your Garmin in the GPX Folder. For this task the app android file transfer is needed.
If you own an IPhone or IPad you can use the Garmin Drive App for the file transfer. -
@Reinhard-32 thanks so much for your help with this problem. I've successfully download the routes onto the satnav I need for my upcoming trip to IOW using the app that you said to download from the App Store, ill use this method in future.

You may be aware of Culver Down already but I’ll mention it anyway just in case.
Fantastic views of Sandown and Shanklin Beaches from Culver Down.
And fond memories of my old Honda Dullville now replaced with a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro.
