GPX File
-
Hi, Downloaded MyRoute app on my Samung tablet and have done a route but I can't open it when it says save as.
What am I doing wrong please ? I have tried different gpx files. -
@chris-43 What are you hoping to open the route with? You'll need an app that accepts GPX files to do that.
Unless you want to use MyRoute-app Navigation (which is a separate app from the regular MyRoute-app app). You don't need to use "Save as..." with either MyRoute-app app, as both apps will let you access your routes from within the app already.
If you're just trying to work on the route on your Samsung tablet through MRA Web, you don't need to "Save as..." anything, you can just work on the route like you do on your computer.

i am wanting to send it to my bwm connected app on my phone.

@chris-43 Can't help you specifically with that app, but I don't think you'll need your tablet at all.
You should "Save as..." the route on your phone and then select the BMW app as the app to open it with (assuming the BMW app has that functionality). The tablet doesn't come into it.

i WAS HOPING TO PLAN THE ROUTE ON MY TABLET AND THEN SEND TO MY PHONE.

@chris-43 Ah, I see. You can do that, but you don't need to "Save as..." on your tablet. So just plan the route on your tablet, and then switch to your phone once it's done.

ok. That is what i am having trouble doing.
And thanks for your help -
@chris-43
In order to use a route in the BMW Connected App, it must indeed be saved in a location accessible to your phone. So that can be locally on your phone or in the cloud if it is reachable from your phone.
Then you can use the "open with" function or use the import function in the app.
Details of these actions will be different for Android or IOS. -
@chris-43 I use Onedrive as a save location which I can access from any device. you can use any storage however as long as it is in the cloud.
If you have R1250 TFT (directions and map) you should save it as a Boombox pre 2019 file. Then import it as the waypoints...not the route.
This enables full flexibility with your waypoints, including being able to add on the run or skip.
I have found any other option just gives me a overall trip that I cannot edit.
