The current version of MRA Next on my iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 18.4 drained the phone’s battery within 5 hours, and the phone was running off of the bike’s battery for power.

The route had 22 points on it and was a 210 mile ride.
I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this?

I have no problems with my iPhone 12 Max, but you have to feed it all the time ! And you have to pay attention to cool your iPhone in the wind.

@AWDC-LAO What do you mean by “feed” it? The phone was being powered by the bike the whole time. And it was mounted on the left handlebar in a QuadLock case, so it got a decent amount of air. Temps were from 60-84*F.

          Were you wirelessly charging?

Indeed, I meant permanent power from the iPhone with an approved cable from Apple.
Maybe you should check if your power supply is correctly connected to the bike's CAN-bus system?
Cleaning the contacts on your iPhone might be necessary sometime .

Easy to blame the App but not all USB chargers/mobile devices are built the same, ensure whatever you use it's able to deliver the right amount of charge for your device. The key to success is checking your device wired/wireless charging specs and matching with the best outlet/cable solution. Personally I have a 12V outlet that I use with a plug in multi outlet that has an USB-C (PD3.0) and USB-A (QC3.0) outlet. Both are suitable options for powering my Pixel 8A phone. I have a Quad Lock Wireless Charger which delivers the right level of charge but my Pixel 8A Wireless input is rated lower at 7.5w so my device consumption exceeds its charge level. A useful App that I use which I assume same or similar is available on the Apple AppStore is Electron which will show consumption vs charge.

Go to https://www.gsmarena.com/ to find your phone charging spec and match it with the best charger set up for your bike.

The charger I use is https://www.amazon.co.uk/Charger-Syncwire-Smallest-Cigarette-Compatible-Black/dp/B09D3NXCBL?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

To answer the questions here, I was not wirelessly charging and the cable is receiving power directly from the battery using a SAE Battery Tender USB Charger Adapter. The phone was receiving decent air circulation with it mounted on the left handlebar. Also the cable is verified to be operating correctly.

@Ron-Z, Check the specs of your charger and look for QC3.0 (or higher) and PD3.0 (or higher). There are apps that show how fast your phone is charging, while the app is running (at least for Android there are).

I am just an enthusiastic user, and hope you will be one too!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.
