Version 4.3.4 - Turn Off Automatic Route Recalculation

I am one of those who asked for this new feature and I am thankful it is now in place.
The weather in Germany keeps me from testing in on the road.
I have one question. With recalculation turned off, I assume there is no such thing as "Skipping Waypoints." It really would not make sense, as the original route stays on the screen, and all my waypoints are considered in that.
Or, do I have a brain cramp?
Also, what happens to calculating "Time and Distance to Destination" while I am away from my planned route?

@Volker-Lattauer when you disabled recalculations and aren’t on route, you won’t see an ETA.
Waypoints won’t be skipped but you are still not allowed to miss viapoints
