Unable to route when avoiding highways
-
I'm working on the next bucket list tour. Selecting the Toolkit / Avoid / highways option makes the routing fail from waypoint 1 to waypoint 2.
https://www.myrouteapp.com/route/open/10100622/here#42.3002112;-83.820544;15/
I know that I can fix this by setting some number of intermediate waypoints, but I thought I would raise the question - why can't this route be resolved? I'd rather have the MRA routing make the initial attempt, and modify it from there.
I'm thinking that some section of road is designated 'highway' that would not match my definition of 'highway'. My goal is to avoid what we would call 'freeway' driving in the US, multi-lane, limited access roads full of semi trucks and fast-food chain restaurants. Perhaps a more specific error message could be displayed regarding the routing failure point.
Many thanks!

Select the TomTom map. The Here-haart indicates that the route goes over a closed road

@Don-Stauffer interesting, by changing the transport mode from motorcycle to car, Here is then able to plan a route. I suggest plann8ng your route using the car mode.

@Hans-van-de-Ven-MR-MRA Thanks Hans. That's a great workaround. Ultimately I need the Here map for my Garmin, but only at the later stages of planning.

Always use the Car mode to plan your routes!

@RetiredWingMan Thanks, a very interesting and surprising discovery. I appreciate the useful information.

Why??, surely there is something amiss if that is the case!!

I agree with @richard-3v. Such a bold statement screams for an explanation. I happen to know that our chief developer uses the motor profile as his go-to mode.
@Don-Stauffer, That being said, if I place an extra waypoint between one and two, the motor profile calculates just fine. I do see a significant altering of the route between car and motorbike mode though. I think there are some length limits in place for calculation between waypoints, which might be different for motorbikes, or the the calculation for motorbikes crosses a hard universal limit. I really don't know.

Because you have more option when you use the car profile.

@Con-Hennekens I only here you stating that the devs would use this bike profile. He never admitted that. But besides that. The bike profile only gives you trouble. Look at the many posts on this subject on the forum. Yes it would help if the devs would share their opinion on this subject
