New route coruption
-
Hi. I created a route in the app and downloaded a copy in gpx1.1. After transfer in to my Garmin Zumo XT I could see that the route had been corrupted. Any solutions to this?
-
@Martin-Wood What do you mean by "corrupt"? Are you unable to load the route into your Garmin, or is the entire route no longer correct?
-
Hi @Martin-Wood if you can make the route public & share the link here, then maybe someone could try & replicate your issue
The process you describe is one I have used many many times & never really had an issue. My method was to transfer the gpx 1.1 fles from the MRA app on my android phone to the Garmin Drive app & then "Send" it to the Zumo XT, this worked well.
How are you transfering the gpx 1.1 files? -
@Martin-Wood Have never met this problem over the last seven years. Maybe I have that famous beginners luck.

@Rob-Verhoeff hi. The waypoints are navigated in a different order. Somehow it has changed the route to be more efficient rather than the route I designed.
-
@Martin-Wood Have you tried other GPX versions? It looks like you transferred only the way points and the Garmin made his own route/track.
Here are Gamin XT users, they will tell you the right way. -
@Martin-Wood in your first post you said you’ve downloaded a copy in gpx 1.1.
Why a you can simply share the route using the Garmin Drive app. Use the 1.2 export -
@Martin-Wood In your Garmin, you need to disable route recalculation and navigate by choosing the shortest route. Additionally, you can choose to avoid certain types of roads, such as dirt roads, toll roads, etc.
Oh, and be sure to place enough waypoints within the number that the Garmin can handle, so your route truly remains your route.
