Blue dot on the MRA icon on Android

I'm just resurrecting an Android phone for a forthcoming trip. I usually use Apple.
The MRA icon on the phone home page has a blue dot in the top right corner - can anyone tell me what it means please?

In iOS, it means that the app has recently been updated. Perhaps it has the same meaning in Android? Another meaning I found through Google is that the app might have a notification for you. I’m not sure if that’s correct, but I can imagine that the notification could be that the app itself has been updated.

Maybe it's that - I haven't used it on the Android phone for a while and so just updated to the latest version. If that's the case I guess it will go away soon.
