Offline maps. What am I doing wrong.
-
Sorry if this is in the wrong area.
I'm off to Belgium in a few months time, so I've downloaded the Belgium offline map.
I then downloaded the route that I've done for my Belgian trip
Now this is where it get confusing. I click on the link to open the route and up pops this
So I click on the icon, and then this pops up
These are the settings I have in the App.
I'm obviously doing something wrong, but for the life of me I can't think what.
If you could point me in the right direction, id be most grateful.
All the best -
@Garry-Davis Have you downloaded the region in France that you'll use?
-
@Nick-Carthew
Yes, I've downloaded Belgium, where Ypres is. ( That's not to sound sarcastic, as you're are trying to help me. ) -
@Garry-Davis did you start the route from the Downloads folder? Is there any part of the route not within the downloaded maps? This includes your current location to the start of the route.

Hi there. Yes I started the route from the download folder. I have England and all of France in offline maps. I have turned off my WiFi and mobile data, to simulate the condition if there's not available data. It still comes up, " Could not calculate route, please try again later, or with different settings. -
@Garry-Davis before hitting Start, did you turn off Calculate from current location?

I didn't, so I turned it off, and it still comes up, " Could not calculate route " -
@Garry-Davis can you share a link to route, make sure it's public.
You could also go back to beginning. Turn off offline operation, turn on your network and send if the route loads. Then try different variations to see what conditions cause the route calculation to fail.

Yes, I've downloaded Belgium, where Ypres is. ( That's not to sound sarcastic, as you're are trying to help me. )I asked if you had downloaded the region in France that you would have to travel through from the UK, ie Hautes de France. I know that Ypres is in Belgium.

You Sir are a genius. I turned the lot off, including the phone, and as you suggested started from scratch. It works. And just to make sure, I did it three times now, and it works. Thank you so much for your help.
To be honest I think I might have expected it to calculate the route as if I were connected to the internet, or mobile date.
I have just done the route again, and after a few times of it coming up, " could not calculate the route ". I give it a few more minutes, and low and behold there it is, from my place in Lincolnshire to Ypres, along with all the information that you expect to see on the app, when traveling with mobile data on.
Brilliant.
Thanks to Nick too. -
@Garry-Davis glad you got it resolved.
