    Re: Route direction

    Hi there,
Overlapping routes and the resulting confusion on which direction to ride is currently my biggest issues with MyRouteApp. Especially when it happens in roundabouts! One gets lost on what exit to take.
Perhaps the 'non current' route could be faded to a more desaturated line. That would make the main route stand out. Alternatively 'helper arrows' on the route to go.

@Stephane-30 Would certainly get my vote. I made a similar suggestion a while ago as I have done routes where the planned track crosses over or runs with a previous of future path and, like you say, it is not always easy to see where you should go.

I would also like to configure the colour of the planned track as white does not stand out against the maps when you deviate from the planned track.

Kind Regards. Help where I can.

Hi, the first help is to change the opacity of the route line in the settings, then you can see at least when route lines are overlapping.

To save any confusion, the original post refers to the navigation app not the route planner.

@Nick-Carthew Yup. I was talking about navigation as was the OP. Had some problems around the Brecons and mid Wales with overlapping tracks. Becomes even worse when track recording is on as well - user config for this line (colour and width) would also be useful for me.

            hi,

i would also really like the option to choose route line colour, it has been mentioned on the forum in other threads, but it's probably that MRA want to keep the corporate colours, which is fine, it's their company, you get used to it after a while.

            maybe in the future 🤞

to achieve, we must first attempt ✌️

Okay, I have been out today on a 100 mile ride. This time I had a closer look at the available information on my MyRouteApp Nav (Android) during the ride. The tour had a couple of overlapping sections.

That the ridden route turn yellow is a great thing, however, as mentioned by @Dave-J-0 the yellow is covering up the current route (blue). The yellow line should be much slimmer or have a low opacity. I would also assume the yellow to be below the blue and not on top.

With regards to overlapping routes in roundabouts, there is actually a white arrow pointing in the direction to go. I never saw them before! I guess that's because they are hardly visible. I would suggest a more vibrant colour, or longer, or wider would be easier to see.

Response to @paul69 comment. I'm not convinced that this has to do with corporate colours. Priority should be visibility and clarity.

Other than that, the tour went without major issues. I had to cross a ford at some time with a very high water level. The marking pole showed 3.5 which I thought was Inches (I'm a metric person). It was actually feet!!! I just managed with water up to my knees - that got my pump going. Got applause from a family watching me cross.☺

I don't think it is about corporate colors. It's more about that everyone understands what is meant when we talk about the yellow or white or blue line. Dev has mentioned before that they want to bring in custom colors, but personally I am against that. I think the meaning of a specific color outweighs the importance of a self chosen color. However maybe doing something about opacity and/or line weight (thickness) would help some.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

@Con-Hennekens I fully agree with your statement. I think having customised colours will open a can of worms. Clear colours, opacity and line thickness should do the work.

                      hi @Con-Hennekens

i am not suggesting there is anything wrong with the colours, and it's definitely not a complaint, and personally I am fully aware of which colour signifies which parts of the route etc.
it's certainly not a major issue for me, just something i would like. happy with the yellow and white, but magenta for the actual live route would be a utopia for me
It's purely a personal thing, so that when i look down at the tablet I instantly recognise a magenta colour for the live route that i am actually riding, as the contrast would be a lot higher

The different shades if blue occasionally take a second or so to register,
i am getting used to it, probably only done 4-5k miles with the app so may need a few more miles.
I will still use MRA as my primary navigation and planning tools irrelevant of route colours.
