Viewfinder, what is it for?

On my portal, the viewfinder it doesn't perform any action, what's the point?

When you click on it, the map will be centered on your current location.
(provided you have given the (web) App access to your location, of course.)

That is a setting of the web browser and varies per browser.
Within the browser settings, search for "Location" as a keyword.
