Hi guys, Can someone tell me how I can print my Route map so I have a printed version on paper?

Can you indicate which MRA version you are using?
MRA Routeplanner (website) or the MyRoute app (iOS & Android)?
Do you want to print the map or the route details?

You can use the "save as" function to create a PDF document. There is a small map with the route and details of the route directions.
You cannot make a better map with MRA.

Thank you for the insights Jack. I was hoping to get the actual map, in a large scale so I had a physical map to use during my ride. It seems however this is not possible, even with my Gold version.

          Appreciate your feedback.

          Chris

@Chris-English You could take a screenshot from your PC or Mac and print that but unless you zoom in close you won’t see any detail and you’ll only see a small section of your route.

Always willing to help if I can.

@Chris-English I'm curious in which situation you would want to use a printed map? It won't get better than the app.

I would adore having a word format output instead of a ggrmbll pdf.

Ideal to make my own booklet conbining mra data, info from elsewhere, reminders,... travelling is not only driving, it is also about learning, looking at interesting places...

@Drabslab Agreed, but I don't need a printed map for that! When it comes to keeping travel journals, there are also very nice digital versions available. In that aspect, we seem to differ quite a bit. I have outgrown the era of paper and am quite attached to the digital world in that regard.

I like having route overviews on full A4 for every route on a multi-day trip, so my co-riders can have a look at it and choose which one to ride. Currently I do that by screenshot, but that is far from ideal. HighRes A4 PDF with the route maximally zoomed in to fit would be very handy. Especially if you can add a small window with the route characteristics and height profile.

Modern Word versions are able to open such a PDF. Not completely intact, but elements are editable.

So very correct, "not completely intact" I simply hate pdf, it transforms my dplenfid computer into a stupid fax machine 😊

@Drabslab, well, that's kind of the purpose. PDF's are designed to look exactly the same anywhere and as intended by the designer, by making it virtually impossible to edit it after publication. It actually does a great job, but Word is NOT a real PDF editor 😉 Word actually does a really BAD job in keeping the looks of a document equal on different platforms.

@Con-Hennekens i don't give a ..... about identical.looks on different platforms. 😄 I care about being able to join and edit info coming from different sources for.my own needs and purposes.

But its not important. I have learned that it is easy enough to avoid pdf files all together

And thank god word is not a pdf editot, it would destroy a fine tool

@Drabslab, Well I tend to not hammer in nails with a screwdriver, but you can try whichever way you like 😉

I stopped hammering nails a long time ago, i was hitting my fingers too often 😉

Screws and (electric) screwdrivers just seem superior anyway.

The same for an editable document firmat cinpared ti a fax machine

But i agree, let us all use what we like most. That is what leads to progress. Just a pity that the only doc format available in mra is a poorly editable one

@Drabslab, It's just not meant to be editable, it is deliberately chosen to be PDF to prevent all sorts of failures when rendering on different system, like Word documents have a habit to do, and to show it like the report is intended. If you want to edit it, there are perfect PDF editors available, Word just is the wrong tool. You analogy is great, I love it, but Word still is the wrong tool. I would hate MRA for changing their output to whichever closed source lock-in format you may like 😉

What you probably really want, instead of being forced to buy or rent expensive Microsoft software, is to build a report editor in which we can change the PDF output the way we want.

I will leave it with that 😉
