Creating Bicycle Routes (Or Tracks) On Paved Bicycle Paths

I have a Garmin Zumo XT. I would like to create bicycle routes (or tracks) on paved bicycle paths. Can I do that with MRA? If so, how? One of the ones I created last night looks like it will route on a bike path, but when I tried using it it routed me on a city street.

You can create cycle routes, use the OSM map and the OpenCycleMap (map layer)
You can only use the Track.
Save your route as Track 1.1 and put it in the XT, or if you use MyRoute-App (The App), you can navigate via the arrow to stay on the bike path.

I just made one and it looks like I can save it as:

.gpx 1.1 (route, track, POI) or

.gpx 1.1 (track, POI)

Does it matter which one I save it as?
