Apologies for what is a repeat question, but I was wondering whether the 'new' version of MRA (launched this month) has explicit options to specify 'fastest' and 'shortest' routes.

I guess that the 'straight line' icon should generate the shortest route, but it's not immediately obvious how you would specify the 'fastest' route between start and end of journey. Shortest, not necessarily being the fastest.

      Thanks 🙂

@Stephen-Mell The straight line symbolizes the "least curved" route. It is clear that this could be (but not necessarily) also be the fastest or shortest route.

We only facilitate fastest (as in the routeplanner) - shortest will be added later 🙂

@Corjan-Meijerink Just so I fully understand, if I put a destination into the navigation app (not route planner) I do not have the option to select fastest or shortest? I simply have to accept the route it suggests? The reason I query this is that I live in the countryside and often when I have put in a destination, it routes me the most direct way, often along single track roads, rather than the much faster (albeit, longer) route using 'A' roads.

@Stephen-Mell both the app and the routeplanner only use the fastest option 🙂
