    Samsung S22+ Android 13
Updated to the new version which I think is really good and a huge step forward .
    The zoom feature is superb

The position error is still there and I calculated that the map lags my actual position by between 100 and 120m. I missed a few turnings as a result of this.

I noticed a big improvement with the positioning of the marker, a little jumpy at times but on the whole, much better. iPhone 11

Always willing to help if I can.
Triumph Tiger 1200 XRT called Tina.
MRA Navigation Next and SilverFox B8J bar buttons.
Quadlock wireless mount for IPhone 11.
      Cardo Scala Packtalk Bold.
TomTom Rider 500. (In the cupboard now)

@Stuart-Greer I'm having the same issue, and some rare other as well. It seems this problem is solved for the majority of people, but unfortunately not all. 🙂

I had the same issue and did some research. The Samsung Galaxy S22 phones have GPS troubles. You can follow the steps in this article:

          https://www.getdroidtips.com/samsung-galaxy-s22-ultra-gps-accuracy-issue/

(but I did not the factory reset) and/or the following steps I got from the Calimoto app (where I have the same issues):

          • First of all, check whether "High accuracy" is activated in your smartphone's GPS settings.
          • Deactivate the energy-saving mode and the performance optimization in your device, as this severely limits the GPS sensors.
          • Make sure that you have set the correct time zone: Open your device's settings and select "Date and time" and make sure that "Autom. Date / Time" and "Autom. Time Zone" is selected. If your smartphone is set to the wrong time zone, it could mean that it takes longer to find the GPS signal.
Record activity for 10 minutes and let the calimoto app search for a signal outside under the clear sky. Keep your phone entirely still while doing this. If that doesn't work, try other activity recording apps, but not apps like Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps. These apps use cell towers to determine your location and nearby streets and paths, making it seem like your location is working fine. Besides, Google Maps is firmly integrated into Android and therefore has different authorizations than calimoto. calimoto only uses GPS signals to determine the location. This is why calimoto can also have difficulties determining your location while other navigation apps work correctly.
          • If these tips do not help you, download the "GPSfix" app, for example, and set the GPS timeout to one minute.

          The GPSfix app saved me!

@Corjan-Meijerink I tried out the suggestions from Bart, unfortunately there was no improvement and there is still a significant lag of around 100m or more. I also tried Calimoto and i am surprised to note that it worked perfectly with no noticible lag. I hate to say that i found that its not a bad app Corjan but we won't tell anyone🤣

@Stuart-Greer I had the same issue, but somehow I now don't have the issue anymore. Yesterday I re-downloaded the A-GPS data with the app "GPS Status & Control toolbox" or something like that. And today I wiped the cache from the recovery bootloader.

Note sure what triggered the fix, but somehow my positional error is now only a few meters. Need to do some tests but as far as I've seen today during the test rides, it's fixed for me.

@Corjan-Meijerink @Stuart-Greer I have found some very interesting results.

If I run the MRA app stand-alone I get a delay on the cursor of about 20m while doing 30km/h and about 100m/150m while doing 80km/h. That comes down to a delay of approximately 3 to 5 seconds.

Now here comes the interesting result: If I run the MRA app in conjunction with another GPS demanding app, such as FlitsMeister or GoogleMaps, the position of the cursor is almost spot on!

During a ride, switching FlitsMeister on-and off, consistently toggles the delay to be present or not... Somehow, at least on my OnePlus 6, there seems to be a correlation between other apps requesting GPS data as well.

@Stuart-Greer Can you try to confirm this behaviour? Open FlitsMeister and leave it running in the background, then start a route using MRA Navigation (Next) in the currently launched MyRoute-App Mobile app. Then switch off or swipe away the FlitsMeister app and proceed with the route. Notice any difference in position delay?

                        Please post your findings here!

@StefanHummelink thanks Stefan, the time lag you mention is spot on and something I have timed on the bike and also in the car using android auto. When I mentioned 120m it was at 100lm/hr.
I will try it alongside google maps and get back to you.

@Stuart-Greer Great, I am very curious!

If you're phone supports split screen, you could really run the apps in parallel. Perhaps make a screen recording to see whether the track line in relation to the cursor changes. In my case I can observe a very distinct change when it comes to the track line relative to the cursor. 😃

Hi @StefanHummelink @Stuart-Greer I have been using Flitsmeister in the background previously when running the MRA app on Android and I thought I would check your observations about improved position and less lag. I was running the iOS version alongside on CatPlay to compare and it does appear to significantly improve the lag issue. Whereas I had previously observed about a 4 second lag, the location appears to be spot on and the same compared with iOS when Flitsmeister is running in the background.

Useful to get @Corjan-Meijerink view on this.

This is all very interesting indeed!
My testing device for Android has no other apps installed that use location services - only MRA.
My positioning is spot on like with iOS or your observation with another app running.

We will definitely use these findings to further investigate 🙂

@Stuart-Greer Great, I am very curious!

If you're phone supports split screen, you could really run the apps in parallel. Perhaps make a screen recording to see whether the track line in relation to the cursor changes. In my case I can observe a very distinct change when it comes to the track line relative to the cursor. 😃

@StefanHummelink hi Stephan, as per your suggestion I ran both apps in split screen this morning on a run into Glasgow City centre and it was perfect. I had it zoomed in to the max and it was as good as any sat nav.
                                      Thanks for your help

This is all very interesting indeed!
My testing device for Android has no other apps installed that use location services - only MRA.
My positioning is spot on like with iOS or your observation with another app running.

We will definitely use these findings to further investigate 🙂

@Corjan-Meijerink excellent, the app is really good and getting better and better.
Looking forward to the camper functionality in the future

@StefanHummelink @Stuart-Greer Just done some more testing this morning and you really notice the difference and lag (especially when turning) after Flitsmeister running in the background is closed. Turned Flitsmeister off and on multiple times during a route to double check what we are seeing. Really strange but with Flitsmeister on in the background, the position is spot on and direction changes quick.
