Battery Drain still an issue
-
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max using version 3.2.11 (163). It's mounted on a Quadlock wireless charging mount which could not keep up with the battery drain.
The MRA drain was 7% in 1hr 39mins, Waze drained 3% in 4hr 11min

@Christopher-M-Kelly correct. We are tackling this. In the last update we added enhanced analytics to aid us in solving the issue
-
@Corjan-Meijerink if that's so, how can we provide feedback specifically related to this subject? I suspect the info is only shared through crash reports?
-
@StefanHummelink we’ve added more detailed logging in the last update that helps us. But in all honesty we just need to put in more hours Past weeks were mostly about new features and CarPlay
Once we really start digging into this matter, we will be able to fix it
-
Even with only tracking the route, the battery consumption is on the high side.

What's the latest on the battery drain issue?
I am using Samsung Note 20 Ultra and I saw huge battery drain. I think it was probably May 2023, and haven't trusted the app because it drained my phone to death and I was stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Are people happy with battery performance or still seeing a big battery drain?
Thanks!

@lamelylounges it is still the same. Seems to depend on HERE itself but i had to leave for italy using TomTom.
I got a suggestion to use a phone charger with a larger powrr output. That did help but i could fry eggs on the phone so i stopped that out of fear of killing the phone.

@lamelylounges HERE is working on the issue but yeah, it remains a challenge.
Personally I experience no real issues when closing other apps and enabling battery saving - not ideal but doesn’t cause any issues.

@Corjan-Meijerink even wi5h all the other apps closed thé battery drain is huge and yes thé phone gets very hot. When I use thé phone only running MRA it still gets hot and the battery is drainer from full to empty in about 3 hours. If You want it to running the whole trip You must attach it to a Power source, in my case a wireless charging Quadlock. By charging it thé phone gets warmer, witch is normal but 5he quadlock can’t keep up so thé battery gets drained
I sûre Hope thé problem gets solved in thé naar future bécasse like this thé app is less useful
I do havé Fatih in thé team so I’m sûre that they do anything possible to fix it.
Thé Here situation might be ânonner problem itsekf. Are they willing to solve it from there end because MRA is surélevé compétition for Garmin. On thé other hand I assume that MRA is oaying for thé use Off thé Here Cards so they must Provide a product without issues
Staying hopefull -

Just to confirm, enabling battery saving does not negatively impact the MRA Next operation at all?
-
@Tom-Cat no!

@Corjan-Meijerink thanks for the response.
I'll try to find some time where I can fiddle with my phone settings and do a couple hours of riding where I won't mind if I hit problems.
Some rides are okay to have problems and others are not.
I appreciate what you guys are doing and I think it's going to be a great app.
