See location of driving group on display / Possible API?

if i recall the roadmap correctly, there was a feature seeing where other users of your event or driving group are located on the map, if they also use MRA Navigation and are connected to the internet. (Or was that during the suggestion phase and got voted down?)
Now the best routes tend to have a very flakey mobile coverage and i was wondering if there was plans to introduce an API to inject these 'other locations' from another app supporting off-grid location finding, like Meshtastic. I am not afraid of coding the 'glue' myself, just wanting to check out if this is considered ...

Damn! Yeah, you are totally right. This is an ambition we have but currently not a high priority with the development of Navigation Next.
Once released we do indeed have the intention to research and develop such a feature but given the complexity we do not have a strict timeline at this point

@Thomas-Göttgens Just sharing my support for this ability as well. We host monthly drives and four multi-day events for the Buckeye Miata Club. It would be very helpful to know where other event cars are located. Did they miss a turn? Is the ‘sweep car’ still on the route or did they stop to help someone? Is the sweep car through the last i tersection so I can speed back up? If someone calls with a car problem, where are they exactly?

Yes, it is free and works independent of your headset.
We use it mainly for communication during traffic assistance (like in a corso) when we in a big group.

@Corjan-Meijerink it sounds like an amazing feature and also a really $$$ EXPENSIVE $$$ one. I imagine you'd want a technology like Apache Cassandra database to take all of the locations of all of your users into the database. Life360 is a family tracking app that uses Apache Cassandra to track this data and share it with family members. Good luck!
