I did my first Beta test yesterday on iOS.
A short route to my local Tesco's Superstore.
The route crashed between Waypoint 6 and 7.,
However, what worries me more is that the route picks up ridiculous names from the waypoints that seem to have no correlation to the actual road I am on?
For example the screenshot below is my local Tesco's Superstore.
The road and the waypoint is just a road next to the Petrol station at this Tesco's.

    Max Spielmann.png

Here is the street view of the road.
    The tesco Road.png

So who the hell is Max Spielmann and what relevance is there to the streetview image shown?

There are also 2 more ridiculous entries in this very short route!

I am aware I could move the waypoint but very often I use the Expand function for waypoints.
My OCD dosn't allow me to let these silly names stand which basically means more un-necessary work for me.

@Steve-Lynch First of all happy to hear you got access to the Beta πŸ˜‰

Any more information about the crash? If you mention that it crashed between waypoints 6 & 7, including a link to the public route could help.

Regarding the new names in Waypoints, this has nothing to do with the app but is purely a routeplanner feature. This has been online for quite some time already (~2 months) after community suggestions. We do however appreciate your remark which raises the question if it would be nice to turn this off.

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your first Beta experience πŸ™‚

I have had iOS 3.2.4 for a while but yesterday was the first time I got to use it.
I still do not have access to Android yet but Lisanne has confirmed that this will be resolved soon.
I can't really expand on the issue regarding the crash other than saying that it just closed.

Weather permitting, I will stick the go pro on the bike over christmas to record the iOS Screen

@Steve-Lynch The strange names happen to me many times before; it is all related to the location of the WP on the map during the route planning. What I was doing at the beginning, I just dropped the WP casually on or off the road. This is what happens:

@UltraStar The names that you see on the route points is because there was an update in the RoutePlanner some months ago. This update uses dynamic names instead of the road names and it has nothing to do with placing route points off of the road. Having said that, it is always good practice to place route points accurately on the track line and away from roundabouts, viaducts and road junctions.

Nick, I did a bit of digging for Waypoint 1 in my public route.
Healing Energy Tools is a real Company that apparently seems to be registered to a flat in the small 4 block estate where I live.
I do not get how these "Dynamic" names have any relevance to Route Planning in the real world.
