Why do I get this message when I have a MRA Navigation subscription?
-
So... When I open a route that was last saved with the HERE maps set selected, I get this message...
Why do I get this? One has access to the HERE maps with a MRA Navigation subscription. The message is erroneous. It doesn't actually convert the map to an OSM route. It actually opens the previously used HERE map - as it should. It's just ends up being an annoying extra step to opening the route.
Also... When one tries to overlay a route saved in HERE over the existing/loaded/displayed route, it can't be done...
They are greyed out and you get the "MyRoute-app Gold required" message. You have to go back and change the routes to OSM and then come back here and add them. Why? You have access to the HERE maps.
Not a big deal in the big scheme of things, but still an annoying nit.

Hello Tim,
Do you open the route on your phone or website?
Is this your account?
If you have a basic account, you only have access to the OSM folder, which is why you get this message. -

Hello Tim,
Do you open the route on your phone or website? It doesn't matter. The behavior is the same whether I open it on the website or the phone.
Is this your account?

I have a MRA Navigation Lifetime subscription. So, with that subscription I have access to the HERE maps (re. Gold / Nav)...
So it seems to me that I shouldn't be getting these messages etc.

HI Tim,
If you go to the MRA Shop you will see the screenshot below.
Notice that MRA RoutePlanner and MRA Navigation are completely separate Subscriptions.
Notice also that the Here and Tom Tom Maps are only available in the MRA RoutePlanner if you have a MRA RoutePlanner Gold account. -

Notice also that the Here and Tom Tom Maps are only available in the MRA RoutePlanner if you have a MRA RoutePlanner Gold account.I have access to the HERE maps in Routeplanner. You know how I know that? Because I use them every time I use Routeplanner. And it makes sense that MRA Navigation subscriptions are given access to the HERE maps, because this is what MRA Navigation uses. It wouldn't make sense to not give MRA Navigation subscription holders access to the HERE maps when that's the map set the Navigation app uses on their mobile device.
Perhaps another clue that MRA has thought of this...
See that "Gold / Nav"? Seems Routeplanner is telling you right there that you need either Gold and/or NAV to access the HERE maps. And as you can see there I'm able to select and use it.
I'll reiterate what I said in my original post...
The message is erroneous. It doesn't actually convert the map to an OSM route. It actually opens the previously used HERE map - as it should. It's just ends up being an annoying extra step to opening the route.
Why does it open the perviously used HERE map? It wouldn't do that if I didn't have access to it. But it does give the annoying message and require the additional step of clicking on the "Convert route" button, which I noted it doesn't really do.
As to the MRA shop you mentioned... Clicking the link... Perhaps another clue...

Hi Tim,
You are welcome to ignore everything I have said.
However, I do advise that you look very closely at the info given to you by @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master -

However, I do advise that you look closely at the info given to you by @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-MasterThanks Steve. But what Hans offered to this thread appears to be erroneous as well.
It seems to me that this is a simple bug with Routeplanner/the website. As I mentioned before, it's not a big deal - just an annoying nit. I can still do what I want/need to do.

I get the strong impression that an attempt is being made to help Tim find out what he is doing wrong.
But I don't think he's doing anything wrong.
The specs of the different subscription types clearly state that you are entitled to Here map with route calculation!
See the screenshots earlier in this topic. -
@Tim-Thompson Thank you for reporting this! You are absolutely correct and you found a nice little bug Congratulations!
The discussion in this thread has taken proportions that are not really necessary. The answer is simple: access to HERE maps is allowed with a Navigation subscription (as listed everywhere). When we added this, some flows were not properly checked and you just discovered these.
I had some time left and resolved the bug immediately. Please let me know if everything is now working to your satisfaction (well, "everything"...? Lets scope it to this discussion )
You are obviously also allowed to create a support ticket when you feel like you encountered a bug. If you did already, that's great! I don't check those daily (apart from those that require my assistance)

The first issue I mentioned does appear to be fixed. Thanks. I no longer get the message and I'm no longer required to click the "Convert route" button to open the route.
The second issue mentioned still persist...
It won't let me add a route overlay if the route was last saved with HERE maps selected. Note here that I have the route for day 1 loaded. If I want to add the overlay for day 2 I can't (it was last saved with HERE). It shows the message "MyRoute-app Gold required". Day 3 on the other hand is available for overlay because it was last saved with OSM selected. In order to overlay day 2, I would have to get out, go back, open day 2 and save it with OSM selected. Then open up day 1 again and add the day 2 overlay. Seems you shouldn't have to go to that effort if you have a MRA Navigation subscription.

Hi Tim,
Apologies, I wasn't aware that purchasing MRA Navigation also gave access to the Here Map in the MRA RoutePlanner, even with a Basic RoutePlanner account as I have always had the full Gold MRA RoutePlanner.
-
@Tim-Thompson Thanks! Iโll have that other minor issue fixed by Monday. Missed that on first glance
-
@Tim-Thompson Done! Please let me know if you encounter more issues like this. Feel free to send me a personal message on the forum or create a support ticket.

@Corjan-Meijerink Are your working night shifts? Muhaha.

No problem. I thought that might have been the case. The world spins differently when you have a Gold MRA Subscription.

Indeed. Problem solved.
Pretty quick turn around too. Thanks.

Glad it's resolved. I'm closing this post
