So this will be changed in a next update.
We aren’t recommending the nearest always. It’s one that makes sense based on some internal choices.

It however contradicts quite often with what users expect so we will probably just dumb it down to the nearest.

I would like to see the nearest station along the route that I can see when passing by. I don't want to click the icon, I just want to be able to see the station in real life and then go there. So I don't want to be informed about a station located 300 m from the route - this could be accessible after clicking the icon but it would be better to stop first.

I sure hope there is a way to limit the the dumbest nearest ones to only those ahead...
Noone is interested in fuel for which they must turn back.

I do not agree.

You can be on a small countryside road in the need for fuel but not in sight of the gas station located 300m from you.

I think showing the nearest station, even if it needs to be going back to reach it, is important. If the station is on the road you are following, you will likely see it without the help of MRA.

If you need gas that quickly, you can use the normal search function, that will show the complete area. The suggested fuel station in the navigation screen is merely there to know if your will be able to reach it. I would HATE it if it showed stations going back...

I plan my next tank when I have about 100–150 km of range left, which allows me to travel an additional 40–50 km, which is usually enough. If you need to deviate from your route, you have to click on the map anyway to be able to add this station. In this case, you could see the full list of stations and select one of them or stop and use normal search. I would like to see the next station ON my route without having to take any manual action.

I totally agree. It's simply the most logical thing to do: check the gas stations along my route, and if I don't see them (because there aren't any), then if there are any, I'll look for the nearest POI using MRA's POIs. What I don't want is to deviate from my route when there are already gas stations along it, even if they're a few kilometers further on.
