      @Martin-Wilcke

For me is full active. I always (unless no one follow that rule on post started in English) use it, even if I need a translate helper, 'cause my primary language is Spanish.

But there are a lot of people that likes to write in his native language at first chance they have.

I complain a lot with this, but my water drop does not do a big change. Solution? I do not waste time to read or understand those post not written in English.

Perhaps I'm losing a lot of important info, but as say in Spain: "Ojos que no ven, corazon que no siente"
(Out of sight, out of mind)

      Regards,

@Lluis-Arasanz @Martin-Wilcke I agree with you both. Generally I ignore all posts not written in English or in my native tongue. Maybe I could read German or French, but I don't want to put extra effort in it in order to understand it.

This isn't about Timo; it's about the rules 😉

And I don't want to make any demands; I just want to know...

@Martin-Wilcke Don’t make such a fuss about it — that’s really the point 😉. These days, AI’s got tons of great translation tools you can use. So you can easily keep up with any topic, no matter if it’s in your own language or another one!

I know. And some of these tools can even be used to write in English. As a sign of respect.

              I agree with this mostly!
English topics should be kept in English. I don’t like Germans or Dutch people switching to their native language. I try to moderate this but that aint easy 🙂

Topics started in a certain language are definitely allowed. Try to then also stick to that language but for the sake of keeping communication going replying in English is fine then too.

And if you can, creating a topic in English is preferred indeed.

There are multiple language sections en the self support (sub)forum. You can ask your question there in the language you prefer.

Secondly, Google came up with a fantastic application called Google Translate. You van use that to translate questions/answers in other languages to your language.

It's true. But when a thread started in English, and then gets replies in German, Dutch, or Spanish, it can't work miracles. And these threads are the majority.

@Alessandro-Calvani-0 I completely agree with you. And like other forum members, he simply ignores all messages that aren't in English. If I, who usually write in Spanish, make the effort to write in English, I expect the same from other forum members. It's a matter of basic courtesy. Regards.

Me too agree with most of it. I don't know what forum software is being used. But there might be options for AI integration. Developing my own website I learned that it is quite easy to make all descriptions and reviews available in users their own language. There might even be options to auto translate all comments in English while being posted, or even in the same language as message #1. Sounds like an AI job that actually makes sense... On the other hand, most people already know English as their second language, and Deeple does a great job on the user his own side.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Rules won't work that well. Beside that, you need a 24/7 moderator or moderator team to check every message posted here. And send out correctional matters to the writer of that topic.

You won't escape from the fact that people are tending to reply in their own language.

And beside all this, i haven't seen that much topics where someone started a topic a his/her own language and others reply in their own language.

And even so, Google Translate is a good tool to translate someone's reply.

And don't get me wrong here, but if your level of reading and understanding of English is at a poor level, it might be your own fault. Nowaday's everybody can read/write/speak English at a pretty good level due to English tv shows and movies and sitcoms etc. Maybe you should try to elevate your English language skills a bit more.

Or just do what i do when a topic goes all over the globe regarding the use of language: skip it and don't pay any attention to it.
