I would like to suggest that when setting a new waypoint in an existing route, the position of the waypoint itself can be specified.

      For example:
Set the new waypoint before waypoint 54 or
set the new waypoint after waypoint 63 or
set the new waypoint as waypoint 84

On a route with many waypoints, it is annoying if the new waypoint is inserted last and then has to be placed in the right place in the scroll bar on the left.

Or haven't I found the right way to do it yet? Sometimes it works that the new waypoint is placed at the desired location and at other times it is inserted at the end.

If you hover over the route, you can get a black dot with a plus sign. If you click on that point, there will be a new route point. In the right place and in the right position in the scroll bar on the left.
Click on that point and in the window that appears you can adjust the properties. (Change to a waypoint)

Thanks for the info and sorry for my question. With a little thought I should have come up with the solution myself.😇

I originally meant adding a new route point outside of the route lane.
But the solution is basically the same, you can drag the route lane to the desired point and the route point will then be set correctly.

Since i switched from Tyre to MRA, i have not worked with drawing the route lane because MRA (unlike Tyre) does not show a live preview of the new route. A long time ago, however, I opened my own topic for this. I really miss this feature.

Don't be sorry. In Windows 95 times, it used to be a habit to package help-CD's with software. I can't remember having seen quite a lot since then. But then again : would we read such help-CD's nowadays, in this hasty world we're living in ?

No, the feature being kindly explained in the answer to your question, I also found it "by accident", or should I say "by simple luck". In other words : don't be sorry. Instead, consider this helpful forum as the CD's being delivered in the 90's 😊

And apart from this helpful forum there is also a very extensive support section in MRA.
The search function that goes with this often gives the matching article for a single keyword. That article is in turn regularly supported by a video with explanation.
The big advantage of these support articles is that you get a lot more tips, in addition to the answer to your question.
And no 90's help CD can compete with that.

On a computer, you can do as you are saying.

is there a way to do the same thing with the app on an iPhone ?

It is possible to insert a waypoint on iOS or Android but it is a bit “Hit and Miss”.
You need to zoom in to the full extent of the black route line.
I find that zooming back in every time you want to insert a waypoint even if the screen is fully zoomed in will help.

Sometimes a purposefull double click on the route line will also work and automatically add the waypoint or give you a prompt to confirm if you have that setting on.

Sometimes a long purposeful press on the route line will bring a pop up of the Icon and some other info, click the map, not the pop up, and when the pop up disappears the Insert icon will be there for you to click on the route line.
