Experience with MRA to Montenegro
-
Hello everyone,
After a 9,200 km trip from Romania to Nordkapp and back https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/11248/experience-with-mra-on-nordkapp-trip?_=1786352039527, which went flawlessly (routes prepared in the web planner, without using the mobile planner or track recording), I’ve just returned from another 2,000 km trip from Romania to Montenegro and back, where I experienced a few issues that I’d like to share.
Just to clarify, on both trips I used the same app version: 5.2.0, in Online mode, with the app running on my phone and connected to Android Auto devices (on the bike: Chigee AIO-5 Play; in the car: the built-in system on a Renault/Dacia Sandero).
The first day, from Romania to Serbia, around 600 km, was perfect. The route was prepared at home using the web planner, and I also tried the track recording. I made multiple stops along the way without any issues. After reaching my destination, I saved the tracklog and it uploaded successfully. Happy day!
On the second day, from Serbia to Montenegro, I received some advice from friends with new objectives and decided to modify the route and go through Bosnia and Herzegovina. I made the changes using the mobile planner and started navigating the following day.
The first issue I noticed was that the planned route line was not following the road, as you can see in the attached photo.

After navigating for a while through Bosnia, I reached an area with no data coverage. The route then disappeared, and a spinning wheel appeared on the right side of the screen, but the route was not recalculated. I continued navigating visually, following the grey planned route line, and after around 10 minutes, the blue route line came back.

After reaching Montenegro and trying to save the tracklog, I received an error saying that some coordinates could not be found, or something similar. Unfortunately, I lost the recorded track.
On the last day of the vacation, when I was heading back to Romania and loaded a planned route created in the web planner, the app simply crashed.

So, overall, this experience was not quite as smooth as the first trip, but I’m hoping things will improve. If needed, I can also provide the app logs.
Thanks !
