MRA on iPhone not voicing directions during podcasts

Playing with MRA on the way to work, I noted:

While I was playing music on my phone (Apple Music), the music would lower while the MRA voice directions played (normal, and exactly what I would expect).

When I was playing a podcast (Apple Podcasts), the podcast would pause, but I wouldn't hear any MRA voice directions. After a few seconds (about the time it would take for the MRA voice directions), the podcast would resume.
It's like the MRA voice was just playing at zero volume, but only during a podcast. I don't see any settings that I think would affect this. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I have an iPhone 14 running iOS26, connected via Bluetooth to the vehicle for audio (not CarPlay).

Please check the iPhone internal audio channel for Appel Potcasts should we be set at Appel Music.
Unfortunately, there are too many iPhone settings that affect this again and again...!
