Voice guidance issues, not loud enough
-
I have not seen any one reporting this issue lately. I am thinking that I am only one having these issues.
First, I still think that the voice guidance has too low volume. I have it set to max in the application, and still have to play the music very loud to hear the voice announcements clearly. If I set the music to low volume (where is comfortable to listen,) the voice is too low, and between the road noise and focus on the road ahead, it is difficult to listen to the voice.
I am using iPhone12P with the helmet communicator, and my car (Nissan) audio. In both cases the voice guidance is too low.
Also, while I use the communicator (not sure about the car,) when I pause the music to have the thoughts to myself, the voice guidance is silenced too. Missed the turns several times.
Love the app, and I use it constantly when riding the bike, and mostly in the car. What am I doing wrong? -
@UltraStar, I assume this is when your phone is also the source of the music (spotify or YouTube Music or whatever music app). In that case you are not doing anything wrong. This is just how it is. MRA cannot make the voice louder than it really is. The problem is the fact that Android still has no native "volume per app" feature. I am not sure how this is in iPhones, but considering your question, likely the same.

Voice instructions are loud enough for me...

Yes, for you maybe, but can you set the volume independently from music playing natively on the phone (no CP / car radio or anything, but streaming from your phone). Does the voice instruction manifest as a navigation channel in your volume settings, or is it mixed with the music in the media channel?
-
@Con-Hennekens Thank you, you are absolutely correct. I use the iPhone's native music application to source music while I ride.
I just remembered reading something about separate channel for the voice prompts and music on the iPhone. I guess that does not help me much.
Thanks for your help. -
@Con-Hennekens The volume settings are for both, music and voice. When I here music and adjust the volume up, the voice is getting louder. When I here the voice and adjust the volume up, I here the music louder too after the voice is done.
It sims like the voice and music are synchronized as the volume goes. I have set the volume of the voice in the MyRoute-app to the maximum, otherwise I would not hear it at all. While I ride and listen to the music at the certain volume, when the voice come the music volume goes low, and comes back after the voice prompts are done. -
@Con-Hennekens In MRA, I set the volume to max through the audio menu. Music comes from the iPhone via a radio app or Spotify. The sound is transmitted through my Sena 30K. The volume of the voice instructions is more than sufficient, and I can adjust the music volume down as desired using the Sena.

@Rob-Verhoeff Thank you. I have to try the radio app or Spotify. Maybe that will make a difference. I will let you know.
-
@UltraStar in any case, don’t use exotic or Siri-voices. Use one of the standard voices of iOS.
-
@Rob-Verhoeff You are very gentle describing these voices as "exotic."

This is fully consistent with how it works in Android
