Having tried numerous route planning apps I think I can actually start enjoying the route planning phase with MRA. I ride a V4 Multistrada & occasionaly my Desert X. The Ducati nav is notoriously bad, so I've mounted a Zumo XT2 as a replacement. Iv'e usually been pretty good with tech, but boy sat navs I'm finding a real challenge. I'm heading out on a road trip tomorrow to Norfolk, and I think the route is going to hold up.

A small issue I have encounterd is if I try to navigate from my iphone, it tells me A MyRoute-app subscription is required. I have signed up to gold, does this not carry over to the iphone app?

Now I need to plough through the forum to pick up some handy tips.

    All the best

    @Roger-the-Dodger First of all welcome.
MRA Navigation Next is a separate subscription to that of the RoutePlanner. You can trial it for two weeks free and without commitment if you wanted to.
    I highly recommend it.

Always willing to help if I can.

@Roger-the-Dodger Welcome to the forum. I think you love the combination of planner and navigation tool on one device 😉. Enjoy the trial.

              Hi @Roger-the-Dodger welcome to MRA
I should warn you that taking the MRA trial is a one way trip........
with MRA you won't experience the pain a Garmin can inflict on a route.....so I doudt you will be going back to the Garmin 😆

on a more serious note the MRA Navigation subscription is worth it just for the convenience of having the route that you planned readily available to navigate.
you plan the route in MRA, then just select the route & navigate, no more sd cards, connector apps, cables, bluetooth etc it is just effortless in comparison

Thanks all, how nice to have such a wealth of knowledge to lean on.

So, probably the wrong area for the first rookie question, but, as I have your attention here it comes:

I'm away on the bike, I have the iPad & iPhone, once I have a route planned how do I get it into the Garmin Zumo?? On the PC it's easy with a USB connection, could someone kindly tell me how to do it, got to be pretty straight forward right ??

                TIA...

@Roger-the-Dodger which Zumo? it makes a difference

with the XT if you have the Garmin Drive app installed on your phone, with android it is pretty simple, the apple workflow should be similar

in MRA on the phone select the route then click the download arrow button.
select the gpx format you prefer - I used gpx 1.1 as I prefer to have the route with waypoints - click download.
popup appears with choice export or dowload - click export.
popup appears with choice share ir open- click Open & select the Garmin Drive app.
the file is now available in the garmin drive app to be sent to the XT
if I remeber correctly this transfer was via the internet so the phone & XT have to have data connections, phone to newtork or wifi, XT to wifi

@Roger-the-Dodger Welcome from a fellow Multistrada V4 rider not far from you in Shropshire. Have a Garmin XT2 too and it has been driving me insane with how Tread syncs/destroys routes on transfer to the XT2. Now using a CHIGEEGO AIO-5 Play for CarPlay and this has been a welcome change.

As others have said, you will not ‘look back’ with MRA from planning and navigating. I have been a long time user and the platform keeps getting better and better, particularly the mobile App.

Kind Regards. Help where I can.

@Roger-the-Dodger with the XT2 I think you have the correct app, Thread

Like I said its a different process setup depending on which Zumo you have
& I made an error in previous post, no wifi or internet required, the XT at least will transfer via bluetooth
