Skip waypoints
-
In the last few days I have completed several tours with the MRA navigation. Basically, everything worked very well!
@Corjan-Meijerink fyi Twice I had a "malfunction": a waypoint that was still far ahead was supposed to be skipped. The reason for this was not obvious... I was able to undo the skipping. However, 2 or 3 waypoints that were after the waypoint that was actually skipped were no longer taken into account for the rest of the tour. The automatic skipping of waypoints was active at the time.A suggestion that fits into this context: Can the skipping of waypoints - in addition to the visual display - also be signaled acoustically...?

@Mopetenpit I have switched off automatic skipping of waypoints, for me, it is less trouble. In my opinion, it is not working satisfying and manual skipping is done quickly. Just my ...
-
@Mopetenpit Happy to read everything worked well! The automatic skip works quite nice now. Don't read too many complaints compared to before.
It really depends on the route / where you are to determine if it makes sense. Unfortunately so many deviations of the route can trigger skipping a waypoint. Those deviations are sometimes not as accurate when GPS reception is suboptimal.

@Corjan-Meijerink If there are improvements, I will give it another try.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink I agree with Jörgen
Thank you!
-
@Jörgen, The improvements already are in the last public version I believe. So if you have not tried auto skipping for a long time, it is worthwhile. I personally have not seen any premature skippings ever since.
-
@Con-Hennekens I agree with @Con-Hennekens. The function is on in my case
Whenever I diviated from the route due to road works, it skipped just enough points to get back in the route. -
@Marinus-van-Deudekom @Con-Hennekens
the behavior of MRA described by me above referred to the current version... -
@Mopetenpit Maybe you can put in a service request and then @Corjan-Meijerink van shine his light on this
-
@Marinus-van-Deudekom, He already did shine his light on it

The Autoskip in version 4.1.3 is still not good.
Just like @Mopetenpit writes. Waypoint ahead are skipped.
@Corjan-Meijerink
They are skipped not because of devations but because of the jojo-ing blue routeline. That is my suspicion.
I've seen it more than once last weekend. The routeline was jojo-ing and there was there was the beep in my helmet. A future routepoint was skipped -
@M-Schrijver, What do you mean with jojoing routeline? Is it possible to link a video?
-
I will try but I need the opportunity and my wife to make the video.
In essence:
The blue route line disappear at once (not visible anymore on screen) and then comes back from ahead to your GPS symbol. When it is back, pretty quick it disappears again and comes back again. This can go on for a while. Sometimes in this process I hear a beep in my helmet. A routepoint ahead on route is skipped. On Android Auto i get no message of it. But when i disconnect Android Auto. I get a message on the screen of the phone.This happens al lot when you are not drving the expected average speed. Like in busy traffic. It can happen everywhere also in open terrain where a GPS fix should not be the issue.
You can argue if the GPS sensor of my phone need calibration.
But.
On HereWeGo i've not seen this behaviour.
On Google Maps i've not seen this bevaviour.
On Waze i've not seen this behaviour.
On TomTom Go i've not seen behaviourIf GPS calibration is really the issue. Than it means other software can blend this issue very well. Even HereWeGo.

@M-Schrijver said in Skip waypoints:
then comes back from ahead to your GPS symbol
This I do recognize, but has no correlation with the GPS signal or skipping routine. Is purely a cosmetic issue concerning the rendering. It has been there from the get go too But I can understand the concern that it leads to skipping prematurely.
The beep in your helmet is probably cause by the speed warning?
I am not aware that there are other beeps being produced (yet).
An audible warning for on-screen user input is underway (hopefully ) -
I have disabled speed warnings. If enable them. I will have a busy trip in my ears.
