Roundabout Voice Instructions
-
Just rode a 50 mile route offline after correctly downloading the route to downloaded routes folder on phone and, opened the route from the download folder ensuring offline navigation was enabled. Every roundabout voice instruction was take 1st exit irrespective of which exit it was supposed to be. Switched to online navigation and roundabout voice instructions were all correct. Switched back to Offline navigation and voice instructions for roundabouts were back to take 1st exit.
Is there now an issue with offline navigation and roundabout voice instructions like there was earlier with on line navigation which has now been fixed. -
@Mike-Whitwam That's strange indeed! Are offline maps up-to-date or is there a mapupdate availible perhaps?

All offline maps are up to date, no map update available.
The only thing I can think of is the route in question was produced in a earlier map update but I did go into the route in the MRA Planner and altered it slightly last night. -
@Mike-Whitwam I didn't update for quite a long time. I've a v.129 update ready for install... In wich map-version did the 1st exit ocur?
-
@Rob-Verhoeff
I'm not familiar with the location of the current map update that is installed, where do I find it? -
@Mike-Whitwam Click the 3-bars top left, then account icon top right, then scroll down to offline maps. Refresh the screen if no updates are available,

@Rob-Verhoeff
There are no map updates available, tried to refresh screen but nothing doing. -
Decided to remove UK offline maps and reload.
Removed route from download folder and removed route from my saved routes.
Re created route in My route app planner on Here maps.
Downloaded route to download folder again.
Loaded route from download folder in my route app navigation for off line navigation, checked off line navigation was selected in my settings.
Attempted to ride the route and again all roundabouts had exit 1 in the icon and voice prompts were all 'Take exit 1 at the roundabout' irrespective of the route line.
I again changed the route to on line navigation and hey presto the correct exit number was displayed in roundabout exits and the correct voice instruction.
I hope the developers can take a look at this after the weekend as it has got me beat and it is also a worrying concern as I plan to ride offline in France next month. -
@Mike-Whitwam Are you using Motorcycle as your transport mode? Try using Car.
-
@Nick-Carthew
Hello Nick, yes I have just looked and my transport mode is set to motorcycle.
The route in the planner is also set to motorcycle.
I will reset my mode of transport in the app to car and give it another try out, maybe later this evening.
Can I leave the route type in the planner as motorcycle or do you advise changing that too. -
@Mike-Whitwam I always use car as the transport mode. It makes no difference for us in the UK so I would suggest using car in the planner too.
-
@Nick-Carthew A massive thank you Nick, I reproduced the route and made my Transport mode Car and repeated part of the route including two roundabouts and every thing is sorted the roundabout Icon in the app is showing correct exit number and the voice controls are also correct.
I will as you make my transport mode 'CAR' from now on. Thankyou again Nick -
@Nick-Carthew So much for Here's promise to fix this issue!
-
@Rob-Verhoeff Iām sure that Corjan will be on their backs when he returns from his well earned break.
-
@Nick-Carthew No doubt he'll do just that
Have you all survived the Highlands? -
Yes, thank you @Rob-Verhoeff. Lots of great memories made
-
The same problem with roundabouts. Each roundabout is shown as the first exit on the icon, and the voice instruction also refers to the first one. I constantly use offline mode because, in the past, when losing the GSM signal, automatic switching between online and offline modes never ended well. Additionally, I often drive in areas that are poorly covered or are in roaming zones.
-
@Mario-Ivancic Change the mode from 'Motorcycle' to 'Car' - as per Nick's instructions.
As ever, whan it's a 'royal pain in the a***' bug it's HERE, not MRA.
