I now tested the app again on another cell phone with Android 12 and the maps were visible and everything worked.
But why is Android version 6 or higher specified as the required operating system for this app in the Google Play Store and not a higher version?

@RetiredWingMan as indicated by the App / Play store. If you cannot download the app, your phone is not supported.

However, besides the specific Android version or minimum requirements there are some other demands such as graphic rendering engines (for the map). Sometimes our dependencies are updated and things break for very old devices

@Marschel that is why the Play store indicates it can be downloaded but after downloading, a specific component shows issues. Another phone with Android 6 might work just fine.

However, we know the issue is not strictly related to (old) Android versions. I am therefore researching the issue and hope to come up with a solution.

Then I'm probably very lucky to have an old cell phone that no longer works with the Android version.
Ok, then after 7 years it's probably time for a new cell phone.

@Marschel After 7 years, I'd consider the phone to have served you well!

All jokes aside, I am still researching the issue to see if we can fix the issue. It seems to have a higher chance of occurring on older devices but is not strictly limited to them

Now I have a new cell phone, again a Motorola, the g84 5G model with Android 13.
The cards are now visible again
Now the maps are visible again and I was able to test the navigation for the first time.
In short, I'm thrilled and will continue testing.

@Corjan-Meijerink ja, das wäre schön. Mein Blackview BV9100 ist jetzt leider auch betroffen. Vor dem 15. März 2024 hat alles normal funktioniert. Jetzt das Phänomen mit den nicht sichtbaren Karte. Android 9. Ich hoffe auf eine Lösung und, dass ich mir deshalb kein neues Handy kaufen muss.

bei mir das gleiche bei beiden Telefonen die ich rein als Navi nutze, beide Android 9.

Schöne Überraschung zu Saisonbeginn.

Kann das gefixt werden oder sind wir wirklich gezwungen, nun neue Telefone zu kaufen?

@Corjan-Meijerink Ich habe das Update auf meinem BV9100 installiert - leider ohne Erfolg. Auch Deinstallation und neu installieren hat nicht geholfen. Cache löschen ebenfalls nicht.

Same problem here. Galaxy active tab 2, Android 9. Fully equipped on my bike with Brodit holder, Carpe Iter controller. Completely useless at the moment. Hope there wil come a solution soon. Is there a possibility to install an older version?

Update for Android is available! This solves the issue that older versions were not loading maps
