Suggestion: see GPS speed, even if you're not navigating
-
Hello,
I'll post my suggestion in English so other users can also understand the suggestion.
I'm driving a lot with a navigation app open, view of the map zoomed out so I can see where the twisty roads are. When I'm driving like this I don't enter a destination so I'm not navigating. I've noticed that, when I'm driving this way, I don't get the radar warnings and and don't see the speed limit of the road I'm riding on.
Is it possible to see the speed limit and get radar warnings in Navigation Next without putting a destination (just driving around with the app open)? Also, when driving thru a "trajectcontrole", maybe you can show the average speed you where driving from the moment you past the first camera. Sometimes there are trajectcontroles for serveral km's and if you're driving too fast for a little while (because you're overtaking a slower driver) you don't know if the average speed will be to high.

@Gaetan-Pletse I would support your ideas. The speed indication and safety camera warnings when not navigating would be great. Also like the idea of average speed indication.

Average speed is on our long list of final details
We might also implement your first suggestion, something called “free drive”. This however won’t be done in the coming weeks.I do truly applaud your ideas and totally believe these are excellent examples of features that would make the app to the next level!

@Corjan-Meijerink Like Gaetan Pletse I often use navigation with no route, as it gives a good indication of the road ahead, where turnings are etc, and I have always wondered why there is no notifications of speed limits, speed cameras etc.
So I think having 'free drive' would be a great idea! -
@Pletse Just sharing my support for ‘free drive’. I use MRA with offline maps in the West Virginia and North Carolina mountains where you go back to the stone age. It’s so great to visualize the next turn and the turn after that especially for the many blind turns in the mountains. Now if you can just tell me when a pickup truck is left of center around that blind turn - I’d pay a lot for that life saving feature.

@Pletse Just as an workaround, I usually use MRA in split screen with Waze in a 80%-20% so I can hear the police warnings. When I finish my route, I just close MRA and let Waze on full screen for free drive. Then I have the speed limit, the fixed radars and police warnings...

@Corjan-Meijerink I also drive from A to B with Nav Next activated and not the route activated BUT also Flitsmeister or Coyote activated for the same reason: flits en spoorwegen… This is a must have … but not priority nr 1 !!

Will be done
