Routes Changing when you hit start!

    We have just tested the app on a driving tour in Wales for 3 days, however on all 3 days when we selected our routes the pre planned route changed!

    It came up with a +(mins) in yellow and altered our planned route quite considerably on 2 of the days, which seems completely against the rationale of what you are trying to achieve.

    When we loaded the tracks into tom tom that we give to our customers the routes were as per the track we exported via tomtom my drive, so cant really understand why it would change them!

    hope it helps as we really want this to be the answer to us having to keep using the tom tom units, we would much rather get our customers onto the myroute app for our events, but we need to know its not going to change our routes based on traffic etc.

    Maybe it could have an ignore traffic and maybe road closures toggle switch in settings?

    happy to share our routes with you guys if that helps as well 🙂

      @alan-cookson Thanks for your message. This behaviour has been observed by others too.

      The answer is indeed quite easy. The first cause is the traffic. This is now enabled by default and can’t be turned off (see Navigation preferences in the app). In a future update, this can be turned off. This would reduce the chance of the app generating a different route.

      The other reason is that the app uses a significantly newer HERE version. The website is on a slightly older version which can also be the reason for different calculation results between the app & website. This be fixed later on before the final release.

      Anyhow, the only way to prevent this issue for now is to place a bit more shaping points 🙂

        @Corjan-Meijerink thanks very much for the detailed reply, i did think it may be the traffic situation. We look forward to the later release, we have no more tours until April so maybe by then it will be closer to the finished article.

        The reason we dont like too many shaping points is we use the waypoint list in the road book which works rerally well doing a print screen off the pdf route 🙂
