How to change start point on an existing route
-
Hello everyone as a novice to Mra although a member for many years ,how can I change the start point on an existing route not designed by myself thankyou
-
If it concerns a roundtour you can click on the point where you want to start and then choose "more options".
Then click on the "Go" icon. -
@roland-reay You can drag the first route point to a new start position.
-
@roland-reay Or, if using mobile devices, you can select the existing start-point, select the ‘move’ icon from the pop-up (four way arrow symbol), place the cross hairs on precisely the required location (i.e. zoom right in) and select the blue ‘move’ button.
N.B. To avoid hair tearing, please do be sure that routes imported from a third party are unlocked first (see column of symbols to left hand side of map view)!
-
@pad-0 To be clear, the move icon is only available for smartphones and tablets.

@nick-carthew Note edit to my previous!
I must admit that I rarely access Routeplanner via PC and think of MRA as being most useful as a tool on mobile devices.
-
@pad-0 I would only use my phone/tablet for planning a route out of necessity. I much prefer a larger screen as it gives a better overall view of the route.

@nick-carthew Call me a heretic, but if I’m booting up my PC I prefer to use BaseCamp!🤫

Why am I not surprised

@con-hennekens I can't imagine! In this instance, it's not out of issues with the MRA product though. I just really like BaseCamp - for the way I prefer to plan routes (i.e. keep it as simple as possible) and for what I like to include and exclude, etc it just works perfectly. Others might find advantages in favour of the MRA option, and if BaseCamp ceased to exist I'd be perfectly content to use Routeplanner.
For mobile device use, I think Routeplanner is peerless.
