But I see user account management not limited to allowing a user to share a blog or to have a list of achievements, but rather as a complete collection of all user data, privileges, preferences and default settings used by all other software modules.
I found it somewhat helpful in identifying popular roads.
In the MRA routeplanner I use the michelin map overlay (and the green marked roads) for this. It works very well for Europe but I don't know about the rest of the world.
@Dae-0 I agree, this seems like a simple feature that would add a lot of convenience to route planning. I use the Google Map feature almost exclusively, and would like to save it as a 'user preference'.
@lasironayahoo-com I would rather take the list of way-points that estimate per way-point the time until being there - and then just change the waypoint to what ever you need: break, gas-station
However, I have mostly unplanned and changing biological and other needs, that I cannot plan them day / weeks in advance and tell my body: you will get a break every 4,5 hours
The POI function in the planner has a <Manage> tab.
In it you create POIs yourself and they remain (only) available after closing and reopening the relevant route.
It would indeed be very useful if a similar function could be included in the <Routes> menu.
Preparing a holiday is fun, and a whole year process.
When I read about a nice destination somewhere near a point when I may end up during a future holiday, I already bookmark it in the routeplanner as POI.
Its just fun to connect those dots for makign a holiday trip 🙂
@Gerard-Wullink I think a discussion about offroad use is confusing for the TS. The question was about MRA and TomTom, neither of which support offroad navigation.
The MRA-app and TomTom do, however, support (spoken and visual) navigation instructions when using a track (the MRA-app only when you have a Navigation subscription).
