@Peter-Schiefer said in Suggestion for announcements: Strange is that German words are spoken in English Sample near cologne is a small village written „Much“. the german spelling is Mu like the „bu“ from butcher and the ch froh Machine has no englisch sound it is more a „chr“. MRA speak is like the english „(too) much“ So it is not a dialekt it is a problem of interpretation And so the wording or speling especially of proper names could be funny. The text to speech engine is coming from your phone, MRA does not supply text to speech. The iPhone has 11 German voices to choose from. [image: 1726593139259-img_4178.png]

@Con-Hennekens Zoom is also a parameter that can be set. A sensible default value could help prevent you from looking at the grass

@Brian-McG That was very very helpful! Hopefully someday they will do it automatically for us.

@Hans-van-der-Tol I've been thinking about the same issue. Two alternative approaches could be: use a small dot on the track in a different color rather than the large waypoint icon. Information like waypoint number could be shown own mouse over if the map is zoomed out, only show waypoints with a custom icon or color and when you zoom in enough, also show other waypoints And to make waypoints easy to find, you could make a specific waypoint visible if it is selected in the list of waypoints.

@Rob-Veerman gevonden!

@Brian-McG you're right, my fault, I explained myself badly, I meant the POI icons, your idea is also great, maybe the developers will read it and think about it...

I like the idea too. Not only for gas stations useful. The bar a bit smaller or switchable.

I also think this is a great idea. In the UK even the smallest country village can decide it wants a 30mph speed limit (England & Scotland) or 20 (Wales). We are a population-dense nation and even on a ride that never hits a town we often have to slow for a small village. It would be perfect to know the speed limit at a point on a road - we could then decide to route elsewhere if that point is in a slower speed area. The data is available but I guess there may have to be an uplift in fees to cover the cost. I for one would be happy to go Gold to get this facility!

@Berin Thanks @Con-Hennekens, I was able to import my POI/waypoint file in using this method. The POI's are not listed in the POI tab, rather just the name of the imported file in the library which contains a quite a few POI's which can't be selected to view. The POI's show on the map only when the maps is quite zoomed in, so you kind of have to know where they are. But I can use these to create a waypoint, so all is not lost.

Thanks for the suggestion. It has been a suggestion posted before but at this point MRA does not find the need to implement this. As this discussion does not appears to become very constructive, I'll lock the thread
