@Jörgen, Yes, there were multiple questions about this before yours Of course it is only really beneficiary for A2B(CDetc) routes, because if there are many shaping points like in a scenic route, changing navigation options could spoil the route entirely and it wil probably lead to numerous turnarounds.

@Jörgen, I agree. audible guidance should only be given about the next direction, and not if there are (many) unguided crossings before that. That generates confusion. I experienced that also while riding.

Thank you for your answers. @Dikke-Wim, I know, and I do that on a regular basis. At least for longer trips and when I am not certain what is the best possible road. What I mean is that the same feature might be valuable for navigation as well, because possible different routing. It's not a must have, but we are talking here about ways to improve and add features and I believe it can be a valuable one. @Lynchy67, the follow the line setup is offroad more than enough, I think. In my opinion also in this case having the option to switch the map view or map data can be valuable. Usually, offroad tracks are not that well documented in maps. So, in case you are in a dead end you might want to search the map for a different way. Being able to switch maps for that can potentially be much help. As I said this is only my thoughts on the topic how I believe the app can be improved with additional cool features. Nothing mandatory and in this case more like a feature that is used in edge cases. During normal weekend travelling I just read a road sign in case the navigation has some issues. In the end its not like we can’t also think ourselfes.

@Dae-0, I agree. And I don't think that it will be a problem. @Corjan-Meijerink Users of the navigation part of the app, find it very logical to use that button to start the latest driven route again. People who use different means of navigation, will not start any routes for navigation in the app, and the last edited route is openen by that same button (like it is now). When I access the planner to edit or create a new route (be it the mobile app planner or the online planner), I am perfectly fine with it when that route gets opened by that same button. So, I would say one button is enough, and needs to be redefined as "last edited OR driven route" (whichever comes last).

There is an entry in the menu to access Settings. As far as I know there is no way, once navigation has begun, to access Route options. This would be nice to be able to do.

Hi everyone, I unfortunately opened another thread for the same topic. With 75k+ km using a Garmin device I like to add my +1 to the feature of having a button for a detour in case of e. g. roadwork or an accident or such. I am using it often on my Garmin device and it doesn't help always, but more often than not. my thread with my thoughts on the topic

I don't know how it is in your area but in my area it is very usual to use approx 80-100 shaping points for a route with a length of 200-300 km. That are a lot of points visible in my screen. Because there are a lot of shaping points, the Waypoints are invisible. While the Waypoints the points are which matters I understand your second function of shaping points with color. That's why i suggested to hide all blue (standard color) shaping points. In this case shaping points with different colors will be visible. And then you see only the points which matters.

@Stuart-Greer when opening routes it uses the exact same settings as the one you selected on the website (routeplanner). When generating a route, we do remember your latest avoid options.
