New beta! 4.3.7 (384)
-
Hi all!
A new beta has arrived for iOS and is coming for Android.
Track navigation improvements
A lot could go wrong when navigating a track. Either from your own library or a generated scenic route / roundtrip. No real images to add for this but rest assured that the stability of track navigation has been improved a lot!
No more unexpected detours, no more recalculations straight to the finish and no more frustration. Initial results are very positive but more of my time will be dedicated in finetuning the track navigation.
CarPlay changes
Zoom buttons are available on screen!
While navigating, they are hidden under a submenu to preserve space for future buttons
When entering the zoom interface, the topdown mode is enabled and you can change the zoom level. After closing that menu, the last used camera modus before entering the zoom interface is used again
Android Auto
Same as for CarPlay!
Besides that however another nice feature is added! You can now pan the map
When you have a touchscreen, simply drag the screen.
If you do not have a touchscreen, a button will appear to enable the pan interface.
Note: dragging the map is not supported on CarPlay
Other changes
- Fullscreen mode is now a preference (Navigation settings > screen layout)
- Improved zoom limits in CarPlay / Android Auto (sometimes you were zoomed in way too much)
- Updated HERE and Flutter SDK
Have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Corjan -

@Corjan-Meijerink great work and the changes operate easily from my first checks using CarPlay.
Understand what you say about not being able to drag the map in CarPlay but you can do that in Apple Maps! I also need to check a few other apps as well when in CarPlay.
Some serious testing tomorrow.
-
Just as a heads up - This update did not automatically update for me on my iPhone, I had to manually select it in TestFlight.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Just done a bit more testing and the following allow drag pan on screen (even when in active navigation): Google Maps, TomTom Go and Guru Maps.
-
@Dave-J-0 well, I know they allow it.
We just can’t due to limitations within the SDKNot too bad as since day one CarPlay has the button that supports panning the map. I’d like to allow dragging but that’s up to HERE
-
@Corjan-Meijerink oh ok. Understand.
-
@Dave-J-0 thanks

I really hope you get there quickly Corjan. In my humble experience MRA Navigation has significantly improved since launch, but even with the last big update on track navigation it's still too buggy to trust 100%. For reference, I use DMD2 as my primary navigation, routes planned in MRA. The export track only function has worked flawlessly to date
My riding buddies are starting to use MRA as it's a much cheaper investment than the full DMD2 ecosystem and it's a pain in the arse when there's discrepancies between DMD2 Track (planned and exported in MRA) and MRA track navigation (tracks I've sent them).
The familiar:
"Mine says turn left and mine says turn right !!!I really look forward to the day when MRA track navigation means track navigation and not some hybrid solution. If there's a need to deviate from the track eg road closure, then fine, tell me, warn me, deviate me BUT get me back to the nearest point on the track ASAP because that's what I planned in MRA
Keep up the great work!
-
@Peter-Greenacres then I do recommend testing this version! Active navigation while keeping to all rules and fully sticking to the track is hard.
The scenario you describe now is how it should be in the app.
-
Still waiting for the update in the Android Playstore! Hope it will there be somewhere today! Improvements look great to me.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink : Thank you
-
@white-mouse it should be available! Could you check in the Play Store?
-
@Corjan-Meijerink thank you for your reply. I tested the updated beta today. All good until I deliberately went off track. MRA asked to recalculate, when i confirmed MRA tried to take me back to the point where i left the track, even when i re joined the track further along. Is this deliberate or do i need to adjust something in settings?
Ideally, if I deviate from the track I want to get back on the track at the nearest point without stopping the motorcycle
Thank you -
@Peter-Greenacres If you have "skip waypoints" turned off, that makes sense. Otherwise it should start taking you to nearest point on the track after a bit. Normally that should be immediately but kinda depends on some factors.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink I navigated a track today over some 200 miles and the new version performed really well. When I deviated from the track, I was given a very quick route back to track and this kept updating. Worked really well for me with no problems
-
@Dave-J-0 cool!
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Yes. Now it's available. And the update looks great.
Going to try it on Tuesday!
Once again you all did a good job. -
@Corjan-Meijerink it is on 5he Google playstore
-
Thanks for the update and all the energy that has been put back into it. Also look forward to the complete rework of the home screen of the app. Is this update still expected in March?
-
@CD130 First Alpha version is definitely expected in March.
Beta maybe end of the month.Public release is very unknown as there is also a contractual / license part involved with our supplier.
