Waarom specifiek BMW navigatie?

Waarom kun je via MRA specifiek voor BMW navigatiesystemen (zowel auto als motor) routes opslaan en niet voor bijvoorbeeld Audi, Toyota of Renault?
Voor mij overigens geen probleem omdat ik BMW rijd maar ik vroeg het me gewoon af.
Omdat de .gpx file (xml) iets anders in elkaar zit. Ik weet niet of je bij de andere merken ook routes kunt inladen, of dat ze een standaard .gpx file kunnen verwerken
