Apple CarPlay Mirroring and CHIGEE AIO-5
-
Greetings all and to whom it may concern.
I have been using MyRoute App Navigator on my iPhone 15 Pro Max for our euro tour in June of this year. I have noticed a couple of issues.
One being when it comes to display exit number at the roundabout. MRA displacing said number within the roundabout shape/circle which is very small and har to read even in our VW Polo which has much larger screen compared to CHIGEE' 5" scree.
Can this possibly be resolved in a similar way that Google maps or Apple CarPlay do display such information, which is displayed in a form of a text? The next issue is, that the overall map and general theme does look completely different to that shown on my iPhone. This in turn makes it very difficult to see or distinguish an outline of any side roads, particularly when the nav is in daytime mode (light mode).
I am not sure if this issue caused by CHIGEE software or the fact that is has a 5" screen and everything having to be compressed. Google and Apple Maps all display as they should.the third issue is the panini of the map in overview mode. This is very cumbersome to use, (especially with the gloves on) by having to tap on a four-way arrows and to zoom in and out using + / - buttons.
Google maps do similar thing, but you also have the option of paying by means of tap and move ones finger about the screen or pinch with the fingers to zoom in and out. Sometimes I would ride along, and just would like to have at a quick overview of the route ahed. Unfortunately. I can not do this safely with the current software programming.I am happy to provide relevant screenshots when I am out riding next time.
Many thanks for taking the time to read about these issues that I have been experiencing.

CHIGEE AIO-5 Play

I have the same problem trying to see the map on my Chigee AIO-5. It’s impossible to see the roads as the colours used are a terrible choice.
-
To bad to read the Chigee screen does not have enough contrast. I hoped it was a good screen/system.
It seems the Carpuride system suffers the same issue. But i can be wrong -
@M-Schrijver I don’t think it is a problem with the Chigee, but more to do with the colour choices of the Here map all being shades of grey. Everything else looks great on the screen.
-
It is both.
Why? I have a built-in Android Auto on my Goldwing. And on my screen everything is clear enough even on a bright sunny day.
When the colors have not enough contrast (like MRA default) and your screen cannot show enough contrast. There is a problem. But as soon as one of these 2 is solved. The problem is solved. -
I had a similar experience at the weekend with Android Auto and a Chigee AIO-5. The pale colours are very difficult to see (impossible with the dark internal visor down), plus the icons and text scale so small on the Chigee that I didn't know what was a speed camera, what was a fuel station etc.
I'm sure the devs can address the scaling at some point, but if the colours are fixed by HERE then I guess we're out of luck with that.

Guten Morgen @Evgenij ,
Good morning,
I can't say anything about point 1.
On point 2 I only have a Carpuride W502 and can't complain about the brightness or readability, of course the colours of the Maps are horrible.
Here is a comparison
Poco X3 NFC / iPhone 15Pro
Garmin XT / Carpuride W502
Vergelijking XT scherm met bijv. CarpurideBut on the subject of map colours, an update is due to be released at the end of August.
map contrast issuesRegarding point 3, opinions differ, but in my narrow view this is due to the limitation of AndroidAuto (Google) or Carplay (Apple).

@Tim-Watson the color problem is being addressed. This week in the beta users group and if successful to the public
