While the original post is quite old, it is still valid - are/will the developers devote time to aesthetic changes, such as reducing the exagerated size of the route overview (in app nav, it is also too large, IMO), and increase the size of icons (gas stations, road idenifiers, etc)?

@GT-JWR Line transparency and POI icon size on the map will be a configuration option in the 4.3.0 release
Probably will release an updated beta including this when the original Android beta has been approved
