Planned availablility of Android Auto

In past development plans/timelines after implementing Apple CarPlay Android Auto was said to become available. Plans are there to be changed, but I am sure also a lot of Android phone users are really looking forward to Android Auto becoming available in MRA Next.
Any news on that? It is somewhat silent on this subject, to be honest.
