Suggestion: Open/Close the Menus
-
After opening MyRoute-app, we have the choice to start tracking directly from the map view or to go to the Menu (Hamburger at the left-top corner) to select the route.
After I open the Menu and select an option, in ex.: Routes, I have options to make the different selections here. When I am done, or I change my mind, I can click the Back arrow at the left-top, and - now is my dilemma - where to go. The application sends me back to the default map and, if I would like to make a different selection from the Menu, I have to open the Menu again.
The same think happens in the navigation mode (ellipses at the bottom-right corner,) the program returns from the Menu selection directly to the map.
Personally, I would like to return to the Menu and, if I am done here, return to the map manually. Again, it might be only me. -
@UltraStar I understand your dilemma! This is something we could make configurable with relative ease.
The choice has however been made to automatically close the menu as we expect most users to want that behaviour. Once you choose an option, such as Routes, we expect the user to select a route which will then open in the map.
It isnโt really expected that the user would go back all the way, expect an open menu and then suddenly go to Routelab for example.
Looking forward to other comments!
For us the dilemma often is, does it need to be configurable? This is a perfect example as it technically wonโt be difficult to implement.

@Corjan-Meijerink I had the same query as @UltraStar and would request that this be configurable. Long and short press for back step or back to map would be great.
