Hi everyone!

It is time for a lovely new beta.
Not the most exciting update for you but definitely for us

Device management

This is the core aspect of this update.
Unfortunately we are seeing a massive amount of account sharing going on.
At MyRoute-app we try our hardest every single day to be customer oriented and keeping our prices low. As of this year our base prices for subscriptions had to be increased (for the first time since 2021) and because of new contracts with our suppliers we also have to implement a device limit per subscription.

As we now pay per active phone we cannot (ignorantly) allow users to use our app on an unlimited amount of phones. As of this update we allow a maximum of 2 devices to be used at the same time. When exceeding this limit (3 devices) you will be presented a beautiful interface in which you can logoff another device. After doing so, you can use your current phone again

Some important notes:

Excessively switching between multiple phones will lead to an automatic warning
Attempts to use way too many devices (4) at once will lead to an automatic block

Our terms & conditions will be updated appropriately.
Simply put: times of sharing your account with big groups of friends or your club are over, sharing with your partner / personal use on a few devices is still allowed.

Note for beta testers: being a beta testers does not mean you are allowed to share your account but if for (proven) testing you wish to use more devices, simply contact our support department.

SSO fixed

Signing into the app using a SSO authentication method (such as Apple or Google) was broken. Luckily this has now been fixed!

Link and file opening

Opening links and files with the app has always been possible.
In this update the stability of these features has been improved to ensure it works as expected when the app is in any state (such as terminated / in the background / opened).

Minor fixes and stability improvements

Many small issues that are not relevant to mention here have been fixed.
Also we fixed a few errors that would result in route calculations failing.
Finally a few critical CarPlay / Android Auto errors have been solved and we added a bit more logging to investigate some persistent issues a few users have.

What's next
Slowly but surely we are transitioning to a more focused dedication on the website.
In the next update 5.1 we will:

Aim for solving all stability issues CarPlay and Android Auto
Add highly requested features to CarPlay and Android Auto
Major technical internal updates

Hey @Corjan-Meijerink, I understand everything about the update very well. Perhaps I could add a note about my example usage as a user:

iPhone 16e as my main phone – for planning and everything else.
iPad 9th Gen., for planning, etc.
iPhone XR as my navigation phone without a SIM card, using a hotspot or Wi-Fi.

At my desk, I regularly use the web-based planning on my laptop and 24" monitor. So, I actively use three Apple devices with the app, and it would be inconvenient if I were only allowed to use two devices. (Perhaps the limit could be increased to three.)

It goes without saying that I am the only one using the license!

Hey @Corjan-Meijerink, das zum Update, das alles kann ich sehr gut verstehen, vieleicht noch einen Hinweis zu meiner Beispielhaten Nutzung als User.

iPhnoe 16e, als Haupt Handy - Planen und alles andere.
iPad 9. Gen. , zum Planen usw.
iPhone Xr, Handy als Naviehandy ohne Sim, über Hoptspot oder WLan

Am Schreibtich dann natürlich regeläßig die Web Planung am Laptop und 24" Bildschirm.

Also ich nutze im aktiven Wechsel 3 Appel Geräte mit der App, es wäre unschön wenn ich nur noch zwei Geräte nutzen dürfte. (Limmit vielleicht auf 3 hoch setzen).

Es ist für mich selbstverständlich das nur ich die Lizenz benutze !!!

At release we can ensure you are upgraded to three (as active beta tester) to ensure you won't receive the warnings.

Quick question. How is it possible to get blocked when you can have a maximum of two devices active at the same time? Is the automatic blocking intended as a kind of backup system in case someone tries to bypass this limitation? That means I can’t easily test this myself, right?

Vraagje. Hoe kan het dat je geblokkeerd wordt terwijl je maximaal twee apparaten tegelijk actief kunt hebben? Is het automatisch blokkeren bedoeld als een soort back upsysteem voor het geval iemand probeert die beperking te omzeilen? Dat betekent dus dat ik dit niet eenvoudig zelf kan testen, klopt dat?

Hi Corjan,

I'll test this feature on my 3 devices also.

A question: I see on IOS no option to see devices logged "before" alert is shown. Any plan to update app with a "devices menu"?? (I lookup in Account settings, About MyRoute, and general options)

Test: Update iOS ist da, und gleich installiert auf ..

1.) iPhone 16e … okay ohne zusätzliche Meldung, läuft normal.

iPhone Xr .. es kam die Meldung das das Limit überschritten ist ? .. es fehlt ein klarer Hinweis was das Limit ist ( es sollen ja 2 erlaubt sein.. ) ist nur in diesem ersten Moment unklar für den User..!

Also, eigentlich sollen doch zwei Gräte gehen, App erlaubt über das Menü dabei nachzuschauen… bestätigt und dann wars okay, zweites Gerät funktioniert.

3.) iPad installiert , scheinbar gleiche Meldung Limit ? überschritten, welches Limit ist unklar gut wäre wenn das die Anzahl stehen würde.
Menü erlaubt nachzuschauen. Jetzt wird man aufgefordert ein Gerät der schon zwei angemeldeten abzumelden bevor man das 3. hier das iPad aktivieren kann. Ich habe das iPhone Xr abgemeldet, die Funktion wird klar dargestellt, angetippt und dann wurde das iPad freigegeben.

Hinweis: Es fehlt für diese neue Funktion die Möglichkeit in einem Menüpunkt nachzuschauen welche Geräte aktuell angemeldet und freigegeben sind, ich habe dazu jetzt nichts gefunden in den Menüs, es wäre aber sehr hilfreich.

Die Übernahme des Modell Namen des „iPhone 16e“ erfolgt nicht, es funktioniert nur bei dem iPad und iPhone Xr. Das iPhone 16e (26.2.1) und iPad (26.2.) das iPad werde ich auf Update (26.2.1) bringen, danach noch einmal testen

Das 16e ist das hier gelistet „Unknown device“ Gerät ….

Gibt es einen Grund dafür ?

@CD130 If you login on too many devices with your account within the same month, you get blocked. Let's say you are sharing the account with 10 others.
When they all simply load the app, that linked account gets blocked immediately.

Regarding testing that, just don't
Even if you have 4 devices in your drawer, don't login on all for the fun of it because you will get blocked.

Note: obviously on request beta testers (and people with good reason) will get a higher limit.

@Corjan-Meijerink : Ein Menüpunkt zum nachschauen der gelisteten Geräte wäre sehr hilfreich. Ist die App nämlich noch aktiv, und das Handy wurde durch ein anderes Gerät jedoch abgemeldet, was an diesem aktiven Handy nicht auffällt. Denn die Meldung zum An- / Abmelden kommt bei dem zuvor aktiven Handy erst wenn man mit der App dann Navigieren möchte, in der Gruppe vorm Start vielleicht sehr unangenehm 🥴

Hinweis: Da sollte noch was an Hinweis erscheinen, also sowas wie Gerät ist abgemeldet worden, müsste doch gehen wenn die App aktiv ist oder …..

Hinweis: Sehr unglücklich ist eine grundsätzliche Abmeldung in der App, daruf wird man auch beim Test hingewiesen, habe es mal einfach gemacht, aber sehr unglücklich weil damit alles auf dem Handy zurück gesetzt wird, meine Bibliothek mit mehr als 1500 Routen / Trecks müssen nach neuer Anmeldung ganz neu synchronisiert werden sowas kann die Freude an der App auf einer Tour / in einer Gruppe als Guide sehr unangenehm werden lassen…..

Das dauert jetzt, und wenn sowas aus versehen erfolgt ist der Tag versaut.

It doesn't happen without reason you know.

Logging off a device using the menu in your screenshot or logging out of the app completely is indeed something different.

Only the latter will result in removing your synced routes. But the sync is fast anyway and encountering this situation is definitely not standard. If you get here, I’m happy with how it works.

Ich denke, dass dies in der Tat wünschenswert ist. So kann man schnell überprüfen, mit wie vielen Geräten man eingeloggt ist . Vor allem für diejenigen, die mehr als zwei Geräte verwenden.

Ik denk dat dit inderdaad wenselijk is om te realiseren. Dan kun je zelf heel snel nagaan met hoeveel apparaten je ingelogd bent. Zeker voor hen die meer als 2 apparaten gebruiken

Ich sage nur das es wahrscheinlich nicht allen Usern so klar ist, mir war es schon klar, da muss eine deutliche Meldung kommen das bei einem solchen Abmelden auch alles gelöscht wird, ich befürchte das dieses bei so einigen Usern beim Update für alle User sehr unerfreulich aufstößt….

Also vielleicht noch einmal in diesem Zusammenhang bei der Gräte Begrenzung das Thema genauer betrachten.

Ich denke wir wollen alle das wir weiterhin glückliche und zufriedene User der App haben.

Der Unterschied der Abmeldefunktionen muss deutlicher beschreiben werden, das ist wie eine Falle, es ist unklar gerade im Zusammenwirken mit der Abmeldung der neuen Geräte Begrenzung. Zuvor war es kein Thema weil man sich eigentlich nicht abmelden musste und auch nicht dazu aufgefordert wurde. VG

Kann ein über die App deaktiviertes Gerät das gerade noch die Routen und Tracks synchronisiert noch weiter laufen oder wird das mit dem deaktivieren durchs andere unterbrochen ?

Scheinbar läuft die Funktion des Synchronisieren erst einmal weiter, …. Würde ich jetzt zur Navigation wechseln würde ich scheitern… hier müsste eine Meldung erfolgen.

Dieses Zusammenspiel der Meldungen in den zwei Bildern kann man sehr schnell falsch verstehen, gerade dieses sollte im Zusammenspiel deutlicher und im Text mit einer Warnung besser dargestellt werden.
