Route planner shows route-track as 0km
-
I have just returned from the South of France and MRA was amazing (a couple of operator error induced problems, but quickle resolved. I'm now playing with the routeplanner for another trip and find the following potential problem....
Lets say I want to go from Calais Eurotuunnel to Spa Francorchamps Circuit. And I'm lazy so I want MRA to do the route plan
So in the route lab I select 'create a scenic route' and enter Calais as my start point and Spa as my end point
After some thinking time MRA offers me 3 options, with the distance noted under each option. If I choose a route it is saved into my 'Routes' area as expected (as a Route-Track), but it shows the distance as 0. Surely this is not right? I don't know if this has any impact on functionality yet.
Also, with the scenario above, is it possible to add additional way or via points to the route-track?
Thanks
Neil

Hi Niel, I tried to copy your moves.
After you have choosen your route you see this picture, right?
Excuse the Dutch language, but click on the button where they red arrow is pointing.Give the route a name and click on (I think it is) use and the route is generated. With length and all the used shapingpoints. In this stage ou can change your route as much as you like.

ah yes that's it!! it is easy when you know how!! Thank you so much!!

@Neil-q, Of course you can do what @Lex.Kloet.RX explained. But beware to check the route and route points. Move route points ON the road, and away from crossings and roundabouts. It can be helpful the add the generated track to the planning windows, so you can easily see any detours from the original track. For this, click on the three-lines-menu in the left column and choose "routes", click add, and browse to the original track that was generated.
On the other hand, you can of course also navigate the track instead, and skip the hard work
The distance and duration of a track will play no part in the navigation of that track, it is just some metadata in the file. I indeed notice that it gives 0 km and 0 hours...
