I think I can explain, because it bothers me too. If you create an blog and make it public, this doesn't work any longer! No one is able to find this blog! Since the new SW for the forum is in place, the old blog can't be reached any longer for other readers. But the new forum has the new category: "Travel stories". Only this category can be reached by other readers. Unfortunatelly, this new category "Travel stories" doesn't have the same functionality as the old section "Blog"! I can imagine - users, which are riding just Sunday afternoon - will/can write nice interesting stories. But longterm traveler like me will/can write a lot. And it's great to find everything you need for a long journey in one and the same app! This will may be also helpful for others, which intend to travel to the same region, and are going to gather more information. The section "Blog" is very important, because it's one of the USP (unique selling point) of the app. There are a lot other route planning apps on the market (which don'thave this). I fear, if MyRoute-App Team will reduce functionalities of the App, potential users may go away and purchase another app.

It takes a little bit but there must be so much time, ... good thing is that it was reported fairly promptly. Best regards

Thanks for the replies guys! So I will stop looking for the hidden option to turn this on. I understand the reasoning, but would like to be able to turn this on of off. And when I pass the pause point the route time can be calculated again right. Just the same as I do a stop now and then start riding again in 30 mins, or 45 mins. Anyways... thanks for the confirmation. And on to the feature request part of the forum

@Con-Hennekens exactly! At first I was a bit anxious, but now I am even testing them at the VrijMiBo and last time they were still working at 15:00. I only asked: "kann ich durch?". Antwort war "Ja, pass auf, kann noch etwas glatt sein"

@Rakesh-Rao What you're asking for isn't possible. MRA was designed to plan a route by entering where you want to go, either in the fastest way or using roads with more or less curves. It can create a circular route starting and ending at a single point, but it doesn't calculate the route as you ask

@richard-crombie, Google map overlays are indeed restricted to Gold planner memberships. Are you sure you have Gold lifetime, or only Navigation lifetime? browse to: https://www.myrouteapp.com/account Scroll down and check your memberships. Mine look like this: [image: 1754313109626-78df9a81-e4c5-4e35-b3b5-8eb7cdb7f0bc-image.png]

Just incase anyone is interested, my latest work around is to use Google's mymaps, to overlay annotation on a google maps background with goolemaps functionality. You can share the overlay with others. I've added a screenshot of the overall, plus a couple of 'zoom ins'. Note you can add information to the points, if you look at the ferry port icon that I added, I have been able to link to the ferry sailings schedule. All useful stuff in the early stages of planning, especially if sharing. It's a shame that I can't select the overlay to be visible when planning on myrouteapp. To do it this way would make implementation easier. @Lisi-Mayr I would also like to be able to view all the favorite points on the Routeplanner map, when creating a new route from the mobile app.

@Simon-Cox Hi Simon, did you get this issue resolved as I have now experienced the same issue. I use a Mac and iPhone so it won't load the saved as gpx 1.1 file into Garmin XT therefore u unable to use the route in a Garmin. I have used the same process for years and no problems at all and now suddenly I am getting this issue. I have raised a support ticket as I believe it to be a fault. Many thanks. John

@Con-Hennekens said in Experience with MRA through Swiss Alps, Dolomites, Austrian Alps: It is called PLANNER for a reason... I know ... But if you dont want to stick to the plan anymore or plan a new route using your saved POI list... you have to switch to another app, unfortunately ....

My current solution to avoiding friends having to register it to share my global map. From there, users can find routes and download them. Example given here: https://taarhaug.blogspot.com/2025/08/testing-embed-from-myrouteapp.html Thor

@Brian-McG, it is just fun to know at what altitude you are if you pass a high point. Why is your location considered essential, and your height not? Some people even have motorbike angle info on their display. How non-informative is that...? They just like to know the info

@Banshees, A) There is no switching maps while navigating, because Navigation is built on the HERE platform, it ONLY uses the HERE map. What you are probably confused with are the offered map-themes, but they don't influence the map-availability, only the rendering. B) A map caching facility is already in place, but just like with any on-line map provider (you named gMaps) you can run out of map data after a while C) B can be mitigated by downloading maps for offline use. Check the app settings, and download the countries you ride through beforehand.

Android Auto definitely has limited impact on our resources Yes, we sometimes fix stuff but that is no different than maintenance on the core app / CarPlay. After a very consistent update interval it has indeed slowed down slightly. That's because we are preparing a major overhaul of the app and summer is a poor time to release updates as people then use the app most
