Journey to Morocco
-
Inspired by some long-term travelers, I now felt ready to try it out myself.
The idea was to drive alone from Germany through Switzerland, France, Andorra and Spain to Gibraltar. If I was feeling well, I could continue on to Morocco. But ideas and reality are sometimes far apart. And if you unexpectedly run out of money, you can get stranded!
The same goes for when your tires wear out much faster than planned! Please read my blog to find out what happens on this exiting journey, and what fabulous people you can meet when you travel alone. With story, photos, and tracklogs:

Enjoy - and please provide feedback if you feel like.

I did it last month. If you're running out of money that is worrying. You can run out of cash but should have enough enough money in your bank account to use your debit card or phone contactless most places in Europe take card payments. It's only in Morroco that you MUST have cash. Also the exchange rate at the Port of Tangier is much better than that in the UK. So I'd exchange a bit of Dirhams and then exchange the rest at the port. Insurance I belive was 400 Dirhams at the port. Which is valid for 5 days.
There's a dodgy guy right after border control that tries to sell you insurance, a sim and exchange money but we told him thanks turned left to the terminal and got our insurance.
Exchange and stopped out side the port for a sim card. There are men that will come over to you and try to help you for some money we said thanks went onto a shop the kid was wearing an England three lions T-shirt and spoke ok English. Got my SIM he activated it for me and off we went.
You don't need the locals help just say thank and do your own thing.
