Team! This will probably be my last message, or at least last thread, on this forum.
18 days ago I posted this message: https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/9036/another-day-another-adventure-of-losing-waypoints/13
Today I got the opportunity to ride the same route again and I can tell you, the route is beautiful and lots of fun!
I did what I always do: create a GPX using Kurviger and import it into my route app.
The starting point of the track is 50km away from my house. My routing app creates a route to the beginning of the track.
The track starts at a gas station where we as a group always meet. Because I rode alone today I skipped the gas station and went straight to the main road. My routing app didn’t care. It kept showing me the location of the closed point of the track as long as I didn’t got too far from the track.
Following the track was super easy. No need to skip points or losing direction. I missed an exit twice today. Not a big deal because my route app patiently waited if I could figure this out myself and if I got too far away from the track, because I had to enter a motorway and exits to turn around are scares, the route app started to guide me to the closest point of the track so I could pick up and continue.
All in all I was able to follow the planned route without any issues. I absolutely fell in love again with OsmAnd. -
@Ton-Machielsen, this exactly describes my experience with MyRoute-app, except for for that I prefer to plan in the app in the same platform I am navigating in. But I am glad for you that you found something you like. You seem to like it so much that I don't understand why you went away from it in the first place, to be honest.

@Con-Hennekens Because there was one deal breaker in OsmAnd when it cannot find a proper route recalculation I came in a state where you need to use the phone to get out of it. As you know, that means stopping, getting the phone out, fixing the situation, etc. Just like MRA.
They fixed that so I gave it another try. -
@Ton-Machielsen I share your pain. I believe something has happened some weeks ago which made MRA behave differently. At least on my phone, for my routes. I my case the app always recalculates if deviate from my route, even when a)navigating as a track, b)with automatic recalculation disabled and c)skip waypoint enabled.
I would like to see that the app has a way, when I deviate from the planned route, to stay quiet and to guide me to the next point in sequence as soon as I am back on the planned route. That's how it used to work. I have submitted a bug report on this but it has not been addressed yet as far as I know.
