Hey ik ben van plan om volgend jaar met de motor naar portugal te rijden. We hebben daar familie wonen.
Is er iemand die al een keer die kant op is gereden? En misschien al een mooie route heeft?

Raoul, sorry such a question is like looking in a glass ball. You cross about a third of West Europe. The quickest route from Utrecht to Porto is more than 2000 Kilometer. The climate condition vary.
For sample: No info from you like how many days will you calculate, 4 days, (which is quite tough), a week, two weeks only for one direction.
There are so many possibilities. Mainly along the Canal, the Atlantik coast, from NL trough B, and Normandy, Bretagne, Biscaya.
Or also a beautiful alternativ cross country of B, the Ardennes, west central of F, Loire, Orleans. (which i made few weeks ago to Bordeaux from Cologne with my Cabrio and back then via Massive Central)
In Spain also along the northern coast to the west end or partly cross country via Bilbao, Burgos, Salamaca.
There are so many options and perhaps from every proposal you will receive the author may say, this was the best tour of my life.
@Peter-Schiefer I understand, but maybe somebody did go that way or back and has some nice routes. I understand that one long route gpx is out of the question, but maybe some nice routes on the way. Than I connect those.
If not I'm gonna make my own routes.

kijk eens in lijsten van routeexperts. soms kan je hele stukken overnemen en aan elkaar plakken.
@Bouke-Ent ik vind het lastig zoeken. Je moet dan elke route aantikken om te kijken hoe deze loopt. Ben er wel mee bezig, maar dat is behoorlijk tijdrovend.

dat klopt. voor mij is plannen een leuke bezigheid dus ik heb daar minder moeite mee.
tevens maak ik uiteindelijk zelf mijn route en die kan uit stukjes van andere bestaan die ik dan aanpas. leuke bezigheid voor winter periode.

@Bouke-Ent dat is zeker een mooie manier om een route te maken.
Had op een andere pagina ook wat routes gevonden die tussen mijn route passen. Hier maar mee aan de gang.
@Raoul-Jong een mooie optie is om van internet de route van de pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostela te downloaden. Daarvoor staan er voldoende GPX en op het WWW. Die kan je geheel over secundaire wegen volgen. Staat zelfs met Jakobsschelpen als wegwijzers aangegeven. Heb ik een paar jaar geleden met auto en caravan gedaan. Deze kan je dan in MRA laden en in hapklare brokken knippen voor dagroutes. Afhankelijk van je bestemming in Portugal moet je dan wel ergens een aanpassing maken richting je bestemming. Bijvoorbeeld Salamanca aanhouden en dan door Portugal in.

@Raoul-Jong Mocht je niet het hele stuk willen rijden, dan kan ik de route via Portsmouth - San Sebastian of Bilbao aanbevelen. Je rijdt dan naar Portsmouth (via Eurotunnel of overtocht) en neemt daar de boot die je in anderhalve dag naar noord-Spanje brengt (of omgekeerd op de terugweg). Je spaart dan 1-3 dagen in Frankrijk uit.
Vervolgens kan het mooie rijden beginnen door via de Picos de Europa richting de westkust/noord-Portugal te rijden.
