Route was created in Open Street Maps
-
I am regularly seeing a message that the route (and indeed routes) was created in Open Street Maps, when I am pretty sure that I always use HERE as that is compatible with my Garmin device.
The only time that I use Open Street Maps is when I use the ‘Animate’ function, which seems to display in Open Street Maps by default. I then select HERE or Michelin for the display.
I occasionally switch into Michelin maps, just to see some detail and / or TomTom, if I want to check for any differences.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for any help.

@Richard-18 The only thing you might have done wrong is not setting the requirement to always use the Here map when creating a new route (see image).

@Richard-18, You are probably selecting a mapoverlay instead of a routing map:

Thank you both for the quick replies.
I have checked my default settings:
They look correct.
I do switch the overlays but, as far as I know, I don’t switch out of HERE when creating routes. Or, at least I don’t think I do.
It’s strange…. I must be doing something without realising. I think that must be the case, as I have just created two test routes, which were perfect.
Thanks for the help, I’ll be careful!
Kind regards,
Richard

Out of interest, is it possible to recalculate a route that has (accidentally in my case) been created in Open Street Maps into HERE?
Or, is it necessary to recreate the route again, tracing over the Open Street version of the route in HERE?
Thank you.

@Richard-18 Change the routingmap in the image from @Con-Hennekens (red arrow) to Here and it will be recalculated. Make sure to check if the route still follows your suggested roads. There can be differences between map providers!

@Richard-18 said in Route was created in Open Street Maps:

That is a possibility, but you can also use the compare function in the toolkit.
