Avoiding Highways for part of a route

I am planning a trip from Calais to Sofia Bulgaria, on day 1 of my trip I intend to travel from Calais via Belgium and stop first night in Germany.
I would like to avoid Highways once I enter Germany, is it possible to avoid Highways for part of a route or will I need to create a new route for Germany onwards?

@Andy-Mitchell-0 there are a a lot of options. 1. make a route in osm with segments and then convert it to your navigations map, like here for MRA and garmin or TT.
2. split route.
3. make route for the day but in germany put your points on secondairy roads.
4. etc

@Andy-Mitchell-0 currently cannot do that in 'one' plan, you would have to break it down, combine, etc.

Great idea/suggestion though - I hope the Developers have had this suggestion before and are taking it under advisement.
