Problem with navigation / skipping waypoints
-
I have been using MRA for some years. I love to use the MRA website for planning routes, as well as the navigation app. I didn't use the navigation app intensively, because mainly I worked with a Garmin Zumo navi. But especially since the last update to 4.1.2 with visualizing the gasoline stations (wonderful!) I decided to discard the Garmin and use MRA exclusively.
I was now on a 5 day motorcycle tour through Germany and the Czech Republic. I developed the entire route in advance using the MRA Route Planner (HERE map) and then split it into 5 day tours (=individual routes). Each of the day tours has between 18 and around 40 waypoints (only way points, no shaping points) and is between 220 and 320 km long. The individual day tours were imported directly into the MRA Navigation Next app via “download”. On the way I ran into the following problems with MRA Next Navigation (offline navigation):
Problem 1
For some unknown reason, the system eventually starts skipping waypoints. You drive on the correct road, the next waypoint is e.g. WP 7, 5 km away. Suddenly a pop-up message appears saying "WP 7 skipped. Reset to return" (or something like that). What the hell... The whole thing happens so quickly that you don't have time to react immediately. In the symbol at the top right on the screen, WP 8 and the distance to there appear as the next waypoint.
This happens again and again and unpredictably with any WP's. As a consequence, the system may even calculate a completely new route to the next WP (8), so that WP 7 is actually no longer approached and you take a route that you actually don't want to. All that remains is to stop and select the skipped WP 7 again from the list of waypoints so that this is the next destination. Unfortunately, it can happen that WP 7 is skipped again shortly afterwards... Important: I am on the planned route, every WP was set precisely on the PC, there was no change of course, bypassing a construction site, or anything similar.
Problem 2
You are on the route and drive off the road, e.g. to a gas station or a parking lot to take a break. You are less than 50 meters from the street! Now problem 1 comes into play. I can still somewhat understand this, as the system could think that you have deviated from the route and then a recalculation would have to take place. But within a radius of less than 50 meters? And then skip a special stage even though there is no other road? Very strange...
Problem 3
After problem 1 and problem 2 occurred frequently on each of the day trips and I was already quite annoyed, the following happened every day:
About 10 - 12 WP's before the daily goal, the system starts skipping the next waypoint again (e.g. WP 21). But then the target is not the stage after next (WP 22), but the end point of the day's stage (e.g. WP 29). In other words: WP's 22 to 28 are completely ignored! And of course the system (logically and correctly) calculates a completely new (and different) route there! Unfortunately, I didn't want to go there at all. The nerves are already on edge...Questions
Does anyone else know these problems/phenomena? What am I possibly doing wrong? Do I need to make any changes to the settings? Are there software problems? Or is it ultimately due to the cell phone model used?
I'm grateful for any advice.

@Jo-Mainusch Instead of addressing your findings, I think it would be more helpful to first install the latest version (4.1.3) and then see which findings remain!

@Jo-Mainusch skipping multiple wapoints was an issue that has been mostly resolved in the latest update. The quick solution was to turn off the option for auto skipping of waypoints.

Let bygones be bygones. You are trying to bring back the past.

@RetiredWingMan : Thank you - this was helpful. I was Not aware of the fact that there is a new version, perhaps because I was on tour...
@allOthers: I didn't want to bring back the deads... I told my details in hope for useful and concrete help... Sorry for boring you.
