      Cheers,

I´ve done a couple of 1000s of kilometers using NN next now. Sometimes NN will skip a waypoint let´s say 10km ahead of it, but continue the route exactly as planned and passing the skipped waypoint. I´ve no idea what triggers this behavoiur or why it´ll skip a point that is so far away.

      Any ideas?

      Regards from Austria,
      André

@Erdna No clue here... Could it be something to do with the placing of that waypoint? But even so, skipping a point that is yet to come in about ten kilometers is quite remarkable. Especially considering that you then continue following the planned route. Can you share a link of your route?

          Sure: https://www.myrouteapp.com/de/social/route/8929889?mode=share

I definetely remember it skipped WP 10 directly after reaching WP9, yet there was no other option that following the route.^^

@Erdna That's strange! Nothing, absolutely nothing, can explain why point 10 would be automatically skipped before you even get close to it! Especially since there isn't even another route that could lead to point 11. Perhaps it's still interesting for the developers to know which version you're navigating with because there have been tweaks in automatically skipping waypoints!

There have been reports for skipping waypoints prematurely before, and I have seen some examples of that myself too. But not ever since the change in auto-skipping logic some versions ago.

Besides, the best route to waypoint 11 is often through waypoint 10, even it it has been skipped 😉 . That's simply an indication of having enough waypoints.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

                Cheers,

I´m using Android app version 4.1.0 286 and I forgot something in the initial post: it´s not the first time that behaviour occured. I was riding in eastern Germany and Czech Republic two weeks ago and it must have happened a couple of times. I noticed some times, but comparison of the planned route and tracklog show deviations I cannot explain. Funny thing is, that this happens in offline-mode, too. So it cannot be any adjustment because of traffic or whatever.

Poor thing is that there´s no audio announcement, when a waypoint is skipped. If you don´t look on the screen in the right moment, you´ll miss the info.

True. That´s exactly why I placed it there... most times. 🙂

@Erdna thanks for letting know you use 4.1.0. An issue regarding this had been solved in 4.1.1 which is already available for quite a while 🙂

I’s recommend downloading the update and do report back if weirs stuff happens again!

I switched the auto skip function off, because of the above reasons.
May be with the newer version I should try it again.
But to be honest, I haven't needed it yet.

@Con-Hennekens of course, but WPs are usually far enough away from a turn and if it is effected I simply skip the WP. 😊

@Peter-Schiefer, yes, VIA points are for the sole purpose to NOT being auto-skipped.

As mentioned before, it´s not the first time that happened. Another example:

                              Plan
                              Plan.jpg

                              RealityRealität.jpg

At some point I was aware that I was not on the planned route because it could see the "white line" in the distance on the screen.

I have no idea why NN skipped that waypoint and I did notice too late. Audio announcement would be nice in that cases. I did check with G**gle maps, the originally planned road was not closed or had any other issues at that time.
