Offline mode no longer works
-
I used offline mode all summer for my rodtrips and everything worked wonderfully so far.
Tomorrow I have to go 250 km from home, so I naturally took my tablet, carried out the last update of the application and downloaded my route from the road lab. I went off-grid and selected offline mode and surprise nothing works anymore. Impossible to calculate the route. the app displays a message to switch the app online to be able to carry out the calculation.I don't understand what's going on. Has anyone had a similar problem?
-
@Calibos No... I forced closed the app first. Then go into flightmode to be sure there's no live internet connection. Started the app again, selected one of my downloaded routes and pressed navigate. No problemo...

@Rob-Verhoeff
"I just tried again I got the following message "no route could be calculated using your offline maps to try again we need to deactivate offline navigation"all my maps of Europe have been present on my SD card since this summer. I navigated offline without problem in September of this year
-
@Calibos Strange, have to wait until some genius comes by I think...
-
@Rob-Verhoeff
the only thing I've done since September is update the app to the latest version -

the only thing I've done since September is update the app to the latest versionSame here... as you can see, completely offline:
-
@Rob-Verhoeff
yes it worked perfectly before exactly like you -
@Calibos reboot your phone or tablet and try again?
-
@Rob-Verhoeff
I have already rebooted the tablet.
we would say that the application no longer sees my cards -
@Calibos Same as in this topic?
Try to initiate a route that is stored in the tablet's internal memory rather than on the memory card. If that works, you'll know what the issue is.
-
@Rob-Verhoeff
I'll tryIs there a way to see the maps present on the SD card?
-
@Calibos I've no idea, don't have SD-storage on an iPhone...
-
@Rob-Verhoeff
I'm re-downloading the map of the region and I'll try it later -
it works again after re-downloading the map of this region. It's good but it's worrying if an update loses the links to the downloaded maps!
-
@Calibos
@developerIt would be necessary to be able to view the list of maps accessible offline. or like the background certain software a different color for the region available offline.
And above all understand why these cards lost their links with the application following the update -
hi @Calibos
i had a very similar issue, after downloading the latest map update.
for example, i select a favourite to navigate to, and a pop up reads this cannot be calculated or similar words.
i only ever use offline mode when navigating, but after the update it would not calculate any route.
the only way to rectify the problem was to delete the maps then download again, I then rebooted the app and all worked perfectly.hopefully this will help others in the future.

@Calibos, What I THINK is happening is that you updated the app to a version that is no longer compatible with the offline maps you had for the previous version. I think you need to update the maps before you do anything else.
There have been added some features to the app that depend on newer maps. Also the current SDK has been upgraded multiple times since summer, and often a map update is obligated after that.
@Corjan-Meijerink, do you agree with this? If so it could be very helpful to do a map-check after an app-update. At the moment you only see map updates if you actively look for it in the menu. Therefore it can happen to run behind with the map version.
-
I agree, it appears that recent updates require updated maps.
-
Ok updating the map fixed the problem. Only if I hadn't checked in the evening before leaving, I simply wouldn't have been able to sail with mra this weekend.
If in fact the version of the application requires a reloading of the maps then there should be an alert message when launching the app about the need to update the maps.Another point as I asked a little above would be to have a way to view the cards present in offline mode on the device because here it is impossible to know if my cards still used in the fall were lost or present on my tablet.

Maps you downloaded are marked with a check-mark.
Or do I misunderstand what you mean?
